I’m hoping that there’s enough of a break in the rain/drizzle tomorrow that I can get some work done on the house. Other than that, it’s a blessedly slow week for me.
I’m sure you could appease the weather gods by buying a new tool … or if not the weather gods, I’m sure it would appease someone.
Sniff and Giddy don’t mind the cold. Hopeful, displaced southern hound that he is, hates it. They all hated the ice, though, since that renders their 4-paw drive pretty ineffective. But we’ve warmed up into the 40s and it’s almost all gone except on the steepest shady hillsides.
I usually wake up between 5:30 and 6:30, but I see no reason to actually get up then unless my backs bothering me.
I don’t think I’ve ever lived where it got icy. Snow in NM usually falls all fluffy at night and melts by 10:30am – civilized snow, that gives everyone an excuse to go to work or school late.
Sure, anywhere in the Sangre de Christos mountain range, or even the Sandias, gest very cold, and no doubt icy, in the winter. I lived at a mere mile above sea level, and didn’t have that problem.
Ah, I do miss the winters where the humidity got down to 5% and the sky was so bright and so close that you could see jupiters moons with binoculars.
So I’m guessing you were in southern half of New Mexico. I’ve only spent time in the northern part (we especially like hiking in the Pecos Wilderness).
I was pretty much smack dab in the middle. The southern end of the state, like around Los Cruces, is only about 3000 ft. above sea level. They can actually grow cotton there. The northern end, up near Taos, is around 7000 ft. high. Mountains, and there are lots of them, vary.
Just dropping by for a quick hello…been up all night studying for a midterm I have at 6 PM later today. One Red Bull down, one bowl of Japanese curry coming up.
They’re already gone! The longer days are helping with that. Too bad we’ll be switching back to dark mornings on the 11th.
It looks like a pretty nice day out there today. I think I’m going to bundle up and head for a walk a little later (the cold weather has been a problem with the coughing, so I haven’t been going).
Hope everyone is doing well!! Having the first cup of java this am. Today will be a busy day as I plan to clean and rearrange my bedroom completely today. Quite a few things need to go out into the garage in storage and then I plan to turn one side of the room into my office area instead of it being at the end of the bed. LOL Also after living here over 3 years I guess it is time to hand some of the art work. LOL
Been doing some soul-searching while on my “retreat” in LV…despite all the problems the spouse and I have been going though the past year, I’m really missing that PITA. lol Really going to dedicate my energies to renewing that relationship in the coming months, so I can take on renewing the world in 2008 with a clear heart. 🙂
Saw Rita Rudner last night — great show! Enjoyed it immensely. Tonight I’m supposed to go see Zumanity — I’ll try to make it, depends how I feel. Might just hang out here in the room till about noonish and relax/do some preliminary packing, then I can head out for the day.
Hope everyone else is doing well — hug your spouses/significant others for me, since I can’t hug mine… 🙁
You’re up early.

How are the dogs faring in the cold?
somewhere between 4:30 and 5:15.

I’ll bet it gets icy on Wheeler Peak.

It’s time for me to bring the dog in, medicate Albert, and call it a night. Have a good day all. I’ll see you on the flip side.
Have a good night, keres!

Good to ‘hear’ from you. Japanese curry sounds good, though maybe not quite so early.
True, but then again, I could argue that it’s not too good for me to be up at this time, either. 🙂
On the bright side, once this midterm is done, it’s basically clear cruising to the end of the week, which is the beginning of spring break.
Being up at this hour isn’t the problem, it’s being up the hour before this one and the hour before the hour before this one and the hour before …
Wow. I can’t believe it’s already spring break time….although you probably feel like it’s been a long time coming. 🙂
Good luck on your exam.
Morning CG. Time to hustle the kids out the door?

How are you this morning?
Yeah, it’s just started to get light at a decent hour and now it’ll be back to pitch dark.
It’s really warmed up here and it’s supposed to be in the 50s tomorrow so I hope some of that warmth heads your way.
(Everything is fine here.)

Good morning all.
We’re supposed to get up to almost 80 F today, but thunderstorms are coming in tonight.
Hope everyone is fine.
Morning FamilyMan!!! We were in the 80’s yesterday and I hate it being this hot this early in the year. LOL
Hi RF.
Methinks it’s a preview of this summer. It’s going to be hot.
Same here and last summer was hot enough. LOL
Hi FM!
We’re supposed to get up to a balmy 48 degrees here today… 🙂
Hi CG.
I think we got down to a balmy 45 degrees last night. 🙂
We are going to be in the 40s and 50s (with a one day dip into the 30s) so I’m not too jealous.
Hi Andi.
It’s nice here now, but this summer I know I’ll be crying about the heat.
New design I just worked up to go with a story a blogged at my site.

Sending good thoughts and wishing you well. I’m glad you are enjoying your trip!!!!
Just looked out my window…and it’s freakin’ SNOWING!!! (Too warm for it to stick, but still, that’s SNOW out there!!!)
Looks like I might be hanging close to home base today…
LOL Well it is still winter. Of course, I have the windows open and the ceiling fan on here.
The Wed. Welcome Wagon has rolled into town!
