Hi CG and keres,
Well, it’s been a stressful week and day – I admit to being on my second beer. curly just called and should be back in 15. Then, we’ll head to a friendly couple who are cooking for us tonight
Nope, just KFC and MacDonalds. Also, Hungry Jacks, which are essentially Burger Kings. I’m vegetarian and I don’t usually eat fast food anyway, but a Blizzard was a nice treat on occassion.
The most common fast foods here are fish and chips (soggy ones, usually) and meat pies.
Fortunately, there are a fair few Indian resturants that I can grab a samosa from, or sushi shops that sell rolls to go, in Hobart. And there’s a vegan chinese food place, if I want to sit down for a reasonably priced quick meal.
It’s looking pretty sunny this morning. Which is good, since Imogen bought a bunch of seedlings for our Fall garden crop and needs to get them planted.
Also, we need to cut some firewood if we’re gonna keep Albert warm. We’ve got a tree we felled sometime back which needs to be cut up and split. It’s just a matter of getting down there and doing it (plus, you know, hauling the wood up to the shed).
The previous owners of the property ring-barked at least a dozen or so trees, and we dropping those as needs be. The trees are at least three years dead and the wood’s very dry. They actually stay drier left standing. Also, we’re lazy. And, despite our concerns for Albert’s comfort, it does encourage conservation if we have to cut and haul wood every few weeks.
I have been trying to sweep and dust away all of the yellow pine pollen from the cars, porches, and tables and floors inside the house. You think I’d learn to keep the windows closed this time of year.
Not much lazing. Mr. Nature was convinced we needed several thousand more TV channels and HDTV so I waited for the cable guy most of the afternoon then had to physically wrestle Hopeful to the ground and sit on her so she wouldn’t jump up and injure his balls.
I think he’s going to become a professional TV watcher. Mostly he wanted to see the Final Four in hi-res. But I know it’s really all about the Sci-fi channel that you geeks love.
I’m switching between our local station in regular tv and the one in HDTV and I can’t tell the difference. But we do have hbo now so i can watch Bill Maher. When is it on?
Whatchoo all been doin’ with your fine selves on this sunny (here anyway) afternoon?
I’ve been sleeping (seeing as it was night here).
Right now I’m enjoying a warm cup of tea with local bush honey.
Good morning, then! π
Hi CG and keres,

What I wouldn’t give to be on my second beer…can’t have anything until after CBtY gets done baseball practice, though…won’t be long now. π
I love it when other people cook for me – have a fun night, and hi to curly!
And K. – the (Japanese) wife – is a great cook.
curly says hi back and wonders what you’re cooking.
Oh, we had hotdogs at Dairy Queen on the way to practice…a culinaary masterpiece. π
It has to be done, sometimes.
OK – I am getting nasty looks now – got to log off, we’re outta here.
Man, I miss DQ Blizzards.
Mmm…the best one I ever had was on my last visit with my dad…they used the chocolate peanut butter middle oreos.
No DQ in Hobart?

Indian works for me! Who needs DQ except for the Blizzards, anyway? π
Exactly!
it is wherever you are.
It’s not sunny here though — it’s overcast.
It’s looking pretty sunny this morning. Which is good, since Imogen bought a bunch of seedlings for our Fall garden crop and needs to get them planted.

That’s why it’s nice to get a season ahead on wood — no needing to go get wood in order to keep everybody toasty.

The trees been cut up and I’m off to get groceries while Imogen does the hard work of bringing wood up the hill one wheelbarrow at a time.
I guess that’s what I get to look forward to for tomorrow, then. Just when I was getting used to this warm sunshine thing. :/
Just for you the clouds just broke slightly right and the sun shine through.
There’s hope for tomorrow.
What are you doing this weekend?
Big activity for the weekend is taking our recycling over to the bins.
Hope you and CBs have something much more fun in store.
Baseball practice tomorrow am, and then a day/night off from parenting for me…lunch and shopping with the girls, and who knows what else. π
I probably will do a little work too, just to get ahead for next week.
I have been trying to sweep and dust away all of the yellow pine pollen from the cars, porches, and tables and floors inside the house. You think I’d learn to keep the windows closed this time of year.
Pollen? Pollen already…yeesh. I love spring, but could do without the blooming allergies part.
How’d your day go? Did you get to laze away the afternoon?
Not much lazing. Mr. Nature was convinced we needed several thousand more TV channels and HDTV so I waited for the cable guy most of the afternoon then had to physically wrestle Hopeful to the ground and sit on her so she wouldn’t jump up and injure his balls.
Yeah because if you can’t see the Pussycat Dolls at hi-res, it just ain’t worth watching.
I think he’s going to become a professional TV watcher. Mostly he wanted to see the Final Four in hi-res. But I know it’s really all about the Sci-fi channel that you geeks love.
Well, I don’t get it. They’re just tv shows — it’s not you’re viewing Monet paintings.
I’m switching between our local station in regular tv and the one in HDTV and I can’t tell the difference. But we do have hbo now so i can watch Bill Maher. When is it on?
Ooh, do you On Demand so you can watch back-to-back old episodes of Rome and Deadwood and Curb Your Enthusiasm and stuff?
AndiF, I don’t get the HD thing either. I mean, it’s only tv, right?
Are they really that much better at Hi-Res?
Gotta run out to pick somebody up…back in a few.
heading out for dinner and then some live Texas Blues, in a small venue…Bugs Henderson:
gotta go find my earplugs…
have a good one
later
That looks fun!
