Oops, I got sidetracked. I learned not to buy a mostly black persian rug when you have 3 animals, one of which is mostly white.
Did you bring the rug home before you learned this? 🙂
All 3 of my dogs are mostly white…so I can sympathize.
I don’t know what the hell I was thinking. I saw it on Craigslist and I needed one for my dining room. Wow, what a lot of hair they drop just walking through the room. And Smooch, the white cat, has decided she is deeply in lurve with it and rolls around luxuriously on it.
Now you just need an industrial-strength vacuum cleaner…maybe craigslist has one of those too?
I have one and it’s really satisfying in a weirdly almost sexual way to empty the see-through filter. I’m always amazed by how fast it fills up.

that won’t work — the hair becomes an organic part of the rug; it’s unsweepable.
Easy solution. Save all the dog hair and make a dog hair rug. Doesn’t sound too aesthetic, but functional. 🙂

You know I think every generation thinks that way, but with ours we’re more informed at the instant something happens. I figure the only thing you can do is raise your kids as best as you can, and hope they and the world takes care of themselves.
They are both quite aware and also worried.
But hey, this is the lounge, let’s have a beer.

Maybe we all should cool it on the alcoholic beverages if we’re worried about global warming. George told me that Family Man himself is responsible for a methane cloud over Alabama. On second thought it’s probably the chitlins and not beer.
right now because I’ve been going since 4:00 a.m. and I just got back to the hotel room and everything makes sense to me because my brain is just letting it all flow through.

Long Beach. At least I picked up about 45 degrees in warmth.
Just don’t wear the wrong color when you go out.
Not an issue in this part of town — I’m at the Long Beach airport and only have to go between the hotel and the company’s building which is across a parking lot.
one of Mr. Nature’s business trips. He was in France for a week and never left the IBM facility which was connected to the hotel. I didn’t ask, but I’m sure he ate McDonalds too.
There are two restaurants in the hotel and I’m sure I can find a chinese place that delivers so that should save me from feeling any need to go find the spruce goose or the queen mary while I’m out.

I get to go home Friday morning — of course, it’s 8-9 hours of travel time so I won’t get home until later Friday afternoon.
I think you should be pushing for an Enterprise teleporter. Save time on the flying at least.
Following your excellent advice, I’m going to teleport myself down to the restaurant and then teleport myself to fog-out land for the rest of the evening.

I agree with cooling it. Nope the house is empty now except for FMom and me. I’ve been going through a bad headache, but the medicine is taking care of it. So no beer for me. 🙂

Hi FM. Things are going pretty well. I’m on vacation this week, so I’m trying to relax. Andrew is great – lots of 2-3 word sentences and he’s a towering 3 feet tall.
How is your brother?

Andrew is 3 feet tall huh. Seems like yesterday ya’ll were coming back from China. You’re getting into a good time where he can start rationalizing with you. I’ve always said once they can start rationalizing with you, you’ve lost half the battle. 🙂
He has already learned “no.” He doesn’t use it that often – yet:)
Yep he’ll learn to master that word just like all children. Between “no” and “I want” I think that all the words children need. 🙂
I hope you’re enjoying your vacation and get to slack a good bit.
I hold that title. As far as slacking – I’ve got dozens of small things that need to get done – nothing too taxing.
