May the 4’s be with you
Good morning, afternoon or night everyone.
Whether you’re just getting started or just winding down, pancakes are good any time of the day.
Pancakes are indeed fine at any hour, as are crepes, which is what you will get in Australia if you order “pancakes”.
Good morning/night keres
I think in my entire life I’ve only had crepes twice. So Australia is the land of crepes.
How’re ya doing tonight.
I’m OK. Hung some more drywall in the bathroom, walked the dog, went to the grocery store, etc.
That’s something I’ve got to learn to do is hang dry wall. It’s one of those things I don’t think I would have that much trouble doing it, but knowing me with any home repair I’d screw it up and have to call in professionals. Can’t afford to do both.
Sounds like you’ve had a normal busy day. Time to slack. 🙂
Hanging drywall is actually pretty easy, it’s the mess that gets to me. Especially once you start sanding all the joints.
I’m actually retrofitting over existing concrete board walls, which makes the job quite a bit trickier. Oh, and ceilings, no fun at all, and at least three people are needed – two to hold it up and one to put in screws.
As with most things, slow and steady gets you there eventually.
I know what you mean about the mess. When the condenser for the ac broke last year my bedroom celing got soaked and started falling apart. Got the condenser replaced and they put new dry wall on the ceiling. I told them I wanted to cover everything before they started, but they said not to worry, they didn’t make messes. THEY LIED! It took me weeks to get everything cleaned up.
This is why I do almost all of my own repairs/upgrades. I’m lots cheaper, and I do a meticulous job. It irks me no end to pay someone an exorbitant amount to do a job a third as well as I’d do it.
As for cleaning up, I clean- and pick-up as I go. Mostly because I’m concerned about the health hazards of breathing in particulate matter, stepping on nails, or turning an ankle by putting a foot down on some tool or piece of wood. If anyone can injure themselves, it’s me.
I’ve learned the hard way to always keep my working area as clean as possible.
Good morning, FM!
Got to run – phone conference scheduled for 7.
Hi and bye ask.
You went from very slackerly to overly busy. I think the shock would kill me. 🙂
Hope you have a good day.
Bye!
Love the way the people on this site get up early. Someone to talk to…so that I don’t scream at Imus on the screen.
Actually, fun watching that foul-mouthed bigot grovel. What amazes me is that McCain (who “Believes in redemption”–what crap) says he still supports him. Was there ever a microphone McCain didn’t like?
Good morning/night michaelmt.
I think I’ve only watched Imus once or twice. I decided early on I didn’t like the guy. I have to admit it is fun watching him now. I’m just wondering when he’s going to check into rehab. That seems to be the standard practice now of day. 30 days out of sight and all is forgiven or forgotten.
How’re you doing today?
Imus freely admits to being a recovering alcoholic and cocaine addict. He’s rehabbed to death.
It’s really frightening that MSNBC and his audience have tolerated his vile mouth for so long.
Matt Lauer has been talking to Imus for like the last 20 minutes…what a pair of jerks. Although Imus is the more blatant one.
I guess my adjustment to the time zone change didn’t quite take — I woke up about 45 minutes later than I usually do. Then I lay there for another 45 minutes telling myself I could sleep for another couple of hours.
Didn’t work.
Good morning Andi.
Doesn’t that just suck when that happens. I blame it on geezerhood.
I agree — you know you’ve reached geezerhood when you can’t stay awake and you can’t stay asleep.
Another one of those eternal questions it sounds like.
So did you do anything exciting last night?
Ate, surfed, read (actually pretended to read because I couldn’t really get the words to make sense), collapsed. I made it up all the way to 9:30 PST; I was impressed with myself.
I’m impressed with you too. My sleep got thrown off again, so I’ve been up all night. I want to head to bed, but I’ve got to get groceries today, so I’ll have to wait until later.
Oh for a nice slackerly, nothing happening, nothing to do but slack day. I still haven’t caught the perfect slack day. I guess it’s like a surfer waiting for the perfect wave.
You’re a lot more like to come close than I am so my jealous remains unabated.
Seems like you could get a quick nap in before you went to the grocery.
Wow, I think I was asleep by 9:30 eastern time.
Muy impressive.
I was inspired by the desperation of not wanting to find myself wide awake at 1 a.m.
That’s such a pain in the neck. I usually just stay on ET when I go west and let myself get up at 4:00 AM, but by the third or 4th day it becomes REALLY disorienting.
I hope the week goes quickly for you. You head home Friday morning?
Morning CG.
How’s it going this am?
Well, I’ve had a cup of cappuccino, everyone’s already off to school, and the only errand I need to run today is to the grocery store, so it looks like I’ll have a nice peaceful day of writing about hematologic cancer treatment here at Chez Cabin.
Yesterday was exhausting, with an orthodontist appointment and new school visit for CBtE (he’s interested enough that he’s spending the whole day there Thursday), not to mention the usual afterschool runaround.
How are you this morning? How’s FMom and FBrother?
Yesterday did sound hectic for you. I hope you get to slack as much as you want today. That’s good news about the new school.
Fmom and Fbrother are doing fine. I’ve got to go for groceries today also and I think I’ll carry Fmom with me. It’s good to get her out of the house every now and then.
I’m getting over a migraine and still a little hazy, but that should clear up once I get a shower.
When we were on vacation, I never slept past 4:00 a.m but that’s I didn’t have to be acting as if I were a useful adult worth paying to show up. I need to get about 6 hours to be functional so I’m hoping to do a little better today.
Yup, Friday morning.
I’ve got to run and get a shower and start the day. The sooner I get it done, the sooner I can get back to sleep.
Everyone have a good day in the pond.
The Hookah is lit! Come on over
