Wow I thought a coffee shop would have all places open on the net. But if it’s free who can you complain to. 🙂
I guess power outages show how dependant we are on our modern way of living. I shudder to think how people would react if there was ever long term power outages. I know I feel very put out of the power is off for more than 2 hours.
Yeah I was just at Olivia’s site and told her I would take some snow if she could spare it. Just a front and back yard full would keep me from seeing the grass and weeds in my yard.
I have a feeling some yard work is the card this week. Arrrrgggg!
Nah it warms up enough in the afternoons for them to look out and see if FM is in the yard. I’ve got to cut the grass down by the pond this week before it get too tall and the snakes have a better place to hide. Of course if I see one, then the grass can keep on growing. 🙂
You know I would take it, but it would have to be in a slackerly way. Plus I’d have to hire all sorts of people to take the packages and stand on the roof and in tree and sprinkle the snow. I mean half the fun of having snow is watching it fall. 🙂
Glad to see you got to work OK, but I keep forgetting you’re very used to driving in that weather.
Good morning! (Been a while since I dropped in at the cafe, so thought it would be nice to say hi!)
The wind was rattling my windows something fierce all night (I live in a high-rise, so when it’s windy I really know it). Heard of a couple of trees down around the area now. And the wind was really trying to push my car around on the way to work!
I’d almost rather have snow… no, maybe not. Our trees look like the one in the picture, the tops are starting to really go green. (I love watching spring arrive….)
It’s supposed to be sunny and a nice day here today.
SN your description of the maple spinners makes it sound really beautiful.
JanetT it’s good to see you and be careful in driving in that wind. I know its been so windy here before that I was almost pushed into another lane while driving. Very scary.
Taking a break from cleaning. I hate to let things go for a long time.
I can’t imagine drive a mini-van during high wind. I’m sure I’d be white knuckled and have to pry my hands off the stering wheel when I got home.
I remember the worst drive I ever had was coming back home from San Antonio. In Houston I hit a tropical depression and the rain was coming down so hard I couldn’t even see good enough to find a place to pull of the road. There was a car in front of me and I figured as long as I could see their tail lights I was still on the interstate. It was that bad all the way from Houston to Lake Charles, LA and I don’t think I got over 45 mph all the way through.
Been out and about (or as Olivia might say, oot and aboot) today. Doctor’s appointment went quite well; I’m actually down 11 pounds from the last time I was in (a net loss of 8 pounds because I went up about 3 due to stress eating), so I’m down 29 pounds from where I was this time last year. Glucose ratio and blood pressure are excellent, though she’d like the glucose down a bit more she’s pleased with the progress.
Treated myself afterwards to a new case for my iPod, also a wrist rest and keyboard/screen protector for the MacBook. (Gotta love those non-food rewards!)
Good morning.
How are you?
Everything is fine here; we got a lot of rain but not as much as you guys are getting. Are things really soggy?
We got 5 inches of rain yesterday, and I woke up to an inch of snow, with more falling (pics coming soon). Messy, very messy.
I hate snow in spring. I hope it all melts off fast. We were much luckier — only had flurries and about 2 inches of rain.
It’s a winter wonderland here too …
Gotta go battle the traffic now … 🙁
It knocked out the power too…I’m now hanging out at the local coffee shop. Sigh.
I have snow pictures, but they’re at home.
Hi CG.
I hate when the power goes out. I’ve gotten so used to having background noise in the house that when it’s not there I feel a little lost.
Hanging out at the local coffee shop huh? Sounds so cosmopolitan. 🙂
Not that cosmopolitan…their free wifi blocks out certain sites…dailykos and redstate, so far. Booman, Mydd and feministing are okay, tho.
I just wish they’d have an estimate on my power coming back on. I have no water, heat, nothing until it does.

Good morning Andi, CG and Olivia.
We got past the storm this weekend and it’s in the mid 30’s here. I could do without the rain, but I’d still take some of Olivia’s snow.
How’s everyone been doing?
Glad you got through the storms okay.
I’m sure olivia would be delighted to give you all her snow.
Yeah I was just at Olivia’s site and told her I would take some snow if she could spare it. Just a front and back yard full would keep me from seeing the grass and weeds in my yard.

but if it stays somewhat cool at least you won’t have to worry about snakes.

To pkg it all up: it’s yours.
Of course, we’d have to find a slackerly way to do it. 🙂
Which might be asking a bit too much.
Hi Olivia
You know I would take it, but it would have to be in a slackerly way. Plus I’d have to hire all sorts of people to take the packages and stand on the roof and in tree and sprinkle the snow. I mean half the fun of having snow is watching it fall. 🙂

I forgot about the sprinkling … 🙂
is to hire someone to shovel it up and pack it off. 😉
(glad you got to work okay)
but in order to have the $ to pay said hire, a lot of unslackerly work would have to be done … 😉
And on that note … away I go.
Talk to you both later.
I’ve got to get started on the day, or I’m going back to sleep. I figure once I get out of my chair I’ll know which one. 🙂
Hope everyone has a good day in the pond.
Looks like I missed FM by five minutes. It’s been a slackerly morning here – actually I just got out of bed. I stayed up way too late last night.
Very windy this morning and sunny and chilly. The pines are swaying and all of the maple spinners in the air look like snow.

Me too. I drive a minivan and there’s this new stretch of highway that’s pretty scary when it’s windy.
Taking a break from cleaning. I hate to let things go for a long time.
