Novak rips Bush a new one.
Happy hour in 90 minutes.
Do we have to wait that long? 😉
Certainly not!
But the one I’m heading for is RL with some colleagues.
There are some more papers to push first.
Lt. Colonel Charlie Brown is your 2007 DFA Grassroots All-Star.
came damn close to unseating DooLittle [ha!] in the last one….he could very well knock him out this time…or whoever the challenger might be….since DL’s on pretty thin ice
I was thinking about the dems position on this funding game of chicken. It seems that the repubs feel that if they block and/or veto the funding bill, they will just get the money anyway as if they were still in control. However, the truth of the matter is that they cannot pass any funding bill again because they are not in control. All they can do is get in the way of efforts by Dems to pass such bills that the dems want!
That leads to the conclusion that if the Dems want this war to end, they can stop authorizing funds for the war effort and for the military in general if that is what it takes. The Repubs can do nothing to keep the old funds flowing because of their now minority political position! So what would happen if the Dems don’t send Bush any funding bill after stating why?? Can Bush just run the war on deficit spending forever??? If not (and why could he not??), I would think the military culture itself would force his hand to bring the troops home with impeachment as the final hidden tool if he acts irresponsibly toward troop safety in an otherwise untenable financial situation???
Hope you’re all watching PBS.
Bill Moyers’ new series with Jon Stewart as today’s guest.
I’m enjoying it very much.
