Progressing fast now, but not as advanced as in your area (I think – sadly; since leaving home yesterday morning – train to work, underground passage from subway to the building where my office is, subway uptown in the eve – the most green I saw was crossing Park Avenue on my way to curly).
There are some trees in the backyard and foilage is popping.
It is, and now you remind me that c and I should take a walk up to the Conservatory Garden in Central Park – just a few blocks up from here. Everything must be blooming there now.
I think it has forever altered my connection to the physical universe. Some days I wake up too early, some days I am late. It’s like the saying you can’t teach an old dog new tricks I guess. I’m buying less stuff, using more energy and generally getting more angry at my fellow man for his greater than usual galactic stupidity.
That and I miss Imus in the morning.
It was kind of hard having it start to get green so early and then just stop for weeks because of the freeze. I miss the dogwood flowering but I’m glad it’s finally greening up.
I spotted a few nicely blooming dogwoods Thurs. driving back from a meeting down south. The return trip was a “let’s wander around the back roads and sightsee” whim. Strangely, it only took a few more minutes than a return on the interstate would have and much more enjoyable.
Apparently the town is expecting a big turnout for the classic car & hot rod cruise in. Last Sat. 85 cars showed up. They’ve reserved an additional city block for tonight.
Seems like I remember that you and Jim usually avoid town on weekends, but should you ever need, there’s free BooTribber parking behind our place.
The parking lady is a replica of a character created in the early 20th century by Hoosier humorist Kin Hubbard. He imagined a whole backwoods area populated with homegrown philosophers and fools and supposedly was syndicated by over 300 newspapers. His writings are still quite popular here today. Here’s a quote from a Kin Hubbard character:
Now an’ then an innocent man is sent t’ th’ legislature.
Hi Folks!!! I went to bed at 5:30 am and just woke up. LOL Today will be a busy day as I will be leaving the house at 10 and going to a political meeting and will not be home till late this afternoon. LOL
I am heading out for my marathon meeting so if the cafe gets too full will someone take care of opening another one and I will do the dance hall tonight when I get home.
Good morning, Andi!
Spring!
Yep, it took it awhile but it’s finally here.
How’s the greening up going in NY?

I’ll bet Central Park is especially lovely in early spring.

Luckily (?) for me, the state I live in (Indiana) didn’t even do DST until last year so I hadn’t gotten used to a particular time switch.
I’m always annoyed that I can’t remember how to change the time on my digital wristwatch when its only required twice a year.
Yes and they are all different. The car,TV,VCR,DVD,CD,walkman,Ipod,Bluetooth Blackberry.
Most of the toys I don’t have.
Good morning Andi, ask! Its nice to see some green about the place.

We have a few dogwoods with blossoms but most of them did not.
And speaking of the green woods, the dogs think it’s time to go check them out.
See ya. Enjoy the weekend.
Have fun in the enchanted forest. Look for the wild trillium – ours is in full bloom.
