Terrorist Almost Bombs Falwell’s Funeral

Update [2007-5-23 8:45:15 by Steven D]: Katrinacrat has a few thoughts about this story as well.

* * * * *

Oh those Radical Fringe Moonbat Islamunofascist Leftards! They’ve done it again. Forced a God fearing, Christian Warrior to turn to the righteous wrath of — pipe fire bombs?

A small group of protesters gathered near the funeral services to criticize the man who mobilized Christian evangelicals and made them a major force in American politics — often by playing on social prejudices. […]

And Campbell County authorities arrested a Liberty University student for having several homemade bombs in his car.

The student, 19-year-old Mark D. Uhl of Amissville, Va., reportedly told authorities that he was making the bombs to stop protesters from disrupting the funeral service. […]

“There were indications that there were others involved in the manufacturing of these devices and we are still investigating these individuals with the assistance of ATF [Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms], Virginia State Police and FBI. At this time it is not believed that these devices were going to be used to interrupt the funeral services at Liberty University,” the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office said in a release.

Three other suspects are being sought, one of whom is a soldier from Fort Benning, Ga., and another is a high school student. No information was available on the third suspect.

Now remind me again. Why are we poor liberals and lefties always described as the nutty ones, the terrorist lovers, the radical lunatics, the America haters, ad nauseam, when the folks who like to blow people up in America lately all seem to come from the right side of the produce aisle?

Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols, ring any bells, oh Wise Men of the Punditocracy? Eric Rudolph? Or how about Barbara Joan March, the woman who sent the Supreme Court Justices rat poisoned cookies to eat? Or Chad Conrad Castagana, the idiot who mailed fake anthrax powdered envelopes to Keith Olbermann, Jon Stewart, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and David Letterman (among others)? Or the Alabama militia group that planned to do a little “free range” murdering of Mexican immigrants before the FBI spoiled their party?

Or maybe you Media Masters of the Broderverse can explain to me why the people who just want to peacefully protest an illegal war in Iraq are the walnuts in America’s Patriotic Pie, when between 1995 and 2005 there were 60 right wing terrorist plots (that we know about) which were foiled by law enforcement?

(cont.)

In the 10 years since the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing killed 168 people, roughly 60 right-wing terrorist plots have been uncovered in the United States, according to an upcoming report by the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Intelligence Project. The plots, all foiled by law enforcement, reportedly included violent plans by antigovernment militia groups, racist skinhead organizations, and Ku Klux Klan members to use various types of chemical bombs and other weapons.

Here’s some examples of righty-tighty murder sprees we avoided “over here” while we were fighting the “terrists” over there:

* May 20, 2005: Two New Jersey men, Craig Orler and Gabriel Garafa, who allegedly belong to neo-Nazi and skinhead groups, were charged with illegally selling to police informants guns and 60 pounds of urea to use in a bomb.

* Oct. 25, 2004: FBI agents in Tennessee arrested Demetrius “Van” Crocker after he allegedly tried to purchase ingredients for deadly sarin nerve gas and C-4 plastic explosives from an undercover agent. Crocker, who was involved with white supremacist groups, was charged with trying to get explosives to destroy a building and faces more than 20 years in prison.

* April 10, 2003: The FBI raided the home of William Krar, of Noonday, Texas, and discovered an arsenal of more than 500,000 rounds of ammunition, 65 pipe bombs and remote control briefcase bombs, and almost 2 pounds of sodium cyanide, enough to make a bomb that could kill everyone in a large building. Krar, reportedly associated with white supremacist groups, was sentenced to 11 years in prison for possession of a chemical weapon.

So Jesus must have been a white supremacist bomb maker, and not a Jewish carpenter who preached non-violence, peace and love. My mistake. I guess Jerry Falwell really did preach that Old Time Gospel, after all, At least, if you go by how his students and followers are spreading the “good news” by preparing to smite the enemies of the Lord.

How long is it until the Apocalypse comes?
