Question for everyone:
Booman asked this question awhile back.
If you were on an island and had only one song you could listen to, what would it be?

May the 4’s be with you
My answer to this is the same as when I answered it for Booman. The song would be Layla (Derek & the Dominos).
That song is still one of the few things that can still get me up and moving.
a great song…but writing for a woman who is your best your best friends wife???
Hi AFL.
I’m the type that listens to the melody more than the words. The melody is what get me going.
of course greatest guitar rift ever?
I completely agree with that.
Nothing. I’d rather have no music than listen to the same thing over and over.
Well, I’d take a song, but I’d only play it when I was in the mood.
Hi Andi.
I would have to agree with Booman. Even something that good would have to be taken in moderation. My biggest problem is, now that I have a great song, where would I find beer on the island to go along with it. π
I’ll let the waves and the wind in the trees provide the music for me. It’ll be an earworm free zone.
I can see your point, but my main problem still isn’t answered. Where you I find the beer to go with this paradise.
you’re stranded on the right island paradise, FM :{)

that island looks kinda tiny … like, you wouldn’t have any room for your beer … π
What’s up dada.
Yep I would definitely refuse to be stranded on an island that didn’t have beer. You’ve got to plan these things out ya know. π
MOre important is where would you find an outlet to plug in the refrigerator to dirink it nice and cold, and also plug in the stereo to listen to the song :0)
Hmm, I think the answer to that may vary with the time of day, the day of the week or the season of the year…
Good choice, BTW, FM.
Something by CSN&Y and The Doors would always be high on the list. More recent stuff; maybe Massive Attack or Asian Dub Foundation.
To show how behind the times I am, I’ve never even heard of your recent stuff bands.
I blogged one of them a few weeks ago – you even came by:
Asian Dub Foundation
Here’s a link for Massive Attack.
OK now I remember. Short term memory loss. What can I say. π
OK.
curly’s building is having a backyard party this evening. We’ll check it out now. See you later.
Ya’ll have fun ask. Drink a beer for me.
Cheers for that.
And I just put on my Bootrib t-shirt, might be a conversation starter…
Popurri Jose Jose by Mariachi Sol de Mexico.
My computer tells me I don’t have the right program installed to listen to the samples. As soon as I get that done, I’ll give them a listen.
Hey everyone! What’s for dinner?
Hi SN.
Tonight is a sandwich night here. What delights are you cooking up tonight?
I am not cooking…I was under the impression that it was YOUR night to cook.
Hah! You were under the wrong impression. π
We need to work on our communication, FM.
You could be right there SN. π
Don’t eat too much of that stuff, or you’ll be up all night. π
… but it’s sooooooo good. And I made it! How kewl is that … π
That’s very kewl. π
since you’re the original BT ice cream maker … I got the idea from you … π
Yep. π
Now I’ve got to get you to the point to where you’re fed-exing frozen packs overnight for everyone in the pond. π
everyone but dada … π
LOL π
Blasphemy!!!!! Fine ice cream is something that should be taken with very much reverence.

See ya dada and enjoy dinner.
That is my kind of dinner, O.
no preparation req’d … π
I beg to differ. You did a good bit of prep the other day to make it.
I just posted the pix … π
Yep I’d say a lot of prep. π
a photo that people would love to slobber over.
Here are some photos I took of the process for a certain slacker friend … π
Cream and milk and crushed coffee beans …
Cooked, cheesecloth straining out the beans …
Letting it cool …
Cooled mixture in machine …
After 25 minutes it’s done …
And a couple hours in the freezer it’s scoopable
OK it was me, but I was there in spirit working as hard as I could. π
you can slack just as hard from a long distance as you can in the same room. Attitude is everything.
I couldn’t have said it better Andi. π
thank dog you didn’t put a flag in it…that’d a pushed it right over the edge…:{)

yer so bad …
Felafel (and a side of no o’reilly jokes)
That sounds good Andi. Of course I had to go and look it up before I had any idea of what you’re cooking.
You could always Cook with music.
You know those things are wasted on me. But I’m sure if I had broadband I’d love the hell out of it.
I’m sorry Andi, I keep forgetting.
FYI: I have discovered a new time-waster – Meez.com! I’ve added my Meez to Latino Político and changed up his environment/actions/accessories non-stop.
Do you think I have an internet addiction? π
I just glanced at it Manny, but it does look cool.
I refuse the parameters. I’m taking a whole album and it’s one by Nina Simone.
If we’re going that route, I might rethink my no-music stand and take Faure’s Requiem.
It seemed like a reasonable challenge to the rules. I mean who has a device that can play a song and only one song? At the very least you’d have an album. Holst’s “The Planets” would be nice to listen to over and over as well.
Holst’s “The Planets” would be nice to listen to over and over […]
Apparently the sentiment of the NPR station programmer in a city I used to live in. Thanks to that programmer, I’ve put your hypothesis to the test. It’s false.
Sorry to hear that. It’s not a hypothesis I ever plan on testing myself, but I really do like The Planets.
the newest member of the Frog Pond
Hello Physh!
Glad you joined and glad to have you here.
Manny, I wanted to put that down when I opened the wagon, but I have no idea of how to find who is the newest member.
BTW when you get a chance, send me a e/m about how you make your salsa.
How about posting that salsa recipe here too?
Well, here’s a pic with most of the ingredients. Also needed: 5 cloves of garlic, 1 teaspoon of cumin powder, 2 tablespoons of oregano and salt to taste.
This is for the quick and dirty salsa that takes 10 minutes. If possible, I would substitute the cans of tomatoes for the real deal but I was in a hurry yesterday π
Manny I’m not the brightest, so I need some quantities to work with.
no prob, i’m writing up a more proper recipe, will send it over this evening and make sure it gets reposted here.
Hey Physh, Here`s your traditional welcome from me.

I’d play “wish you were here” by Pink Floyd for those moments when I was really lonely.
How sad is that! ;>)
Hi Kamakhya.
Not sad at all. That’s a great song.
How have things been going?
Sounds like it will be playing all the time. Of course, Johnny Depp could always wash up on shore and fix that.
LOL, a good song though!
Ugh, late for the party. I was going to say Stevie Ray Vaughn’s version of Little Wing, but then I thought that it should be something with lyrics. So then the FooFighter’s Best of You popped into my head. So it was that. Or the Eagle’s Last Resort. Or Blondie’s The Hardest Part. Hmm.
Hiya Boran.
It would be a hard decision wouldn’t it? I think we would have to take keres path, and refuse to be stranded on a island without multiple songs to play.
That’s a good plan.
Mr. Boran,
That is the song of all time for the way Stevie Ray plays that guitar. Lyrics would absolutely distract. Great choice, & mine also.
Well, I’ve been reading through the thread, trying to figure out which song would I choose. I think that I would choose So. Central Rain, by R.E.M.
That choice could change in a few minutes.
Hi Toni.
That’s what makes the choice so hard. Everyone keeps changing their minds. π
How was your day of slacking?
It started out pretty good, and slacking wise, it just went down hill. I put a good bit of effort in getting the house cleaned up today. I don’t think I’ll have any problem with sleep tonight.
How has your planting been going today?
I planted very little today. I have gotten off to a late start this year. I weeded and planted (from seed) some beans, cucumbers, and squash. I have never tried vegetables before.
I still need herbs for my planters.
Our house is a wreck – it will take the summer. Are you having company?
I’ve missed you every time you’ve dropped by so I’m glad I caught you this time.
And now I’m on my way out because I’ve got to leave the house at 5 a.m. tomorrow to catch a flight and I need to get packed tonight.
Hope you are giving a good summer.
Night.
Hey Andi,
Have a good flight. I’ve only been on vacation since Monday, but so far, so good.
Hi/bye Andi.
Hope you have a good flight and can get home ASAP.
Yep got a new batch coming in this weekend. They will be staying across the street over at my sisters, but they will probably spend a good bit of time over here, So FMom wants the place looking good. I told her we could bring the family closer together by having everybody pitch in to get the house cleaned. But, she didn’t buy it. π
I haven’t done a vegetable garden in years. Taking care of and tending to it seems so unslackerly.
BTW when do we get new pictures of Andrew. Since I last saw him, I would bet he has grow a good bit.
He has grown a bunch. If he would slow down, maybe I could get a good shot! I was just saying to my husband that Andrew seems to have only one speed – that’s full throttle!
We’re going to the zoo this weekend, so I’ll try to catch a good shot there!
I know what you mean. It seemed almost impossible to keep up with my daughters – energy and clothing wise. π
I’ll be looking forward for the pictures.
I like that cleaning plan – that’s exactly what I do with my Student Council.
Very wise woman, which I already knew BTW. π
are in order for the evening. I am going to try to tackle the ironing. I’ll see everyone tomorrow. See ya FM.
See ya Toni. Don’t overdo it with the cleaning and straightening.
