a few weeks ago l wrote this brief diary asking the question: why haven’t the democrats signed on as cosponsors of S.185? A bill to restore habeas corpus for those detained by the United States.

at that time there were 22 cosponsors, and shortly thereafter sen Byrd signed on. since then 6 more have joined in support of the amendment bringing the number to 29 .which still leaves us guessing where the others are and why they haven’t stepped forward to vigorously support this restoration of one of the corner stones of our constitution and rule of law.
