Journey For Humanity & Accountability Day 10
by Cindy Sheehan, The Camp Casey Peace Institute
Just a quick update:
Our Journey came to Lynchburg, VA after we had a nice lunch from the community of Carrboro, NC with a nice welcome from the community’s mayor.
The Lynchburg PD was very professional and kept the right-wing loudmouths away from us, so both sides could safely exercise our freedom of speech before the demo was interrupted by a thunderstorm deluge.
We found out something interesting though. In Charlotte, NC, the car that I was riding in that has “Peace Mom vs. Pelosi” had a flat tire when we were going down I-40 toward an interview. Later, when we were having the tire repaired, we found out that it had been cut. We think that’s attempted murder.
Hundreds of people have come out to support us on our way here and thousands have signed our petition on impeachbush.org.
We are taking petitions with over one millionsignatures to Congress Reps Conyers and Pelosi toimpeach the criminals in the executive branch andrestore our rule of law and save our soldiers and thepeople of Iraq from their callous incompetent mis-leadership.
Go to www.impeachbush.org to sign the petition and to www.thecampcaseypeaceinstitute.org for more info about our Journey.
Last night we were in Charlottesville today in Richmond…details soon.

if they disabled her brakes I’d call it attempted murder. This? Not so much.
yeah, this is more like vandalism. annoying, yes. murder? not so much.
Tire cut – not punctured.
If it fails at speed, on the highway, in traffic, while manuevering – causing loss of control & a crash – then what?
IANAL, so tell me – Is not attempted murder unless the act results in death?
it’s not attempted murder unless they meant to kill someone.
If the tire was cut, it would have most likely been flat in matters of minutes. Aloso notice that the tire was repaired. I donn’t know any tire plugs so big that would fix a “cut” even if it was of a pocket knife. I doubt that a responsible mechanic would have fixed it and send themn in thir way (and also lost the opportunity to make extra cash by selling a new tire)
Minutes or seconds….
If it was repairable, it wasn’t a sidewall cut; it was into the tread area. As such it’s not likely simply nuisance vandalism; slashing a tire through the belts is a LOT harder than you’d think. (We’re talking big knife and small sledge here.) I don’t think most people have the physical strength to pull it off – ESPECIALLY when, as it appears from the post, the car was moving at the time…..
I’m MUCH more inclined to think “road debris, probably broken glass.” (And from personal experience, I know that glass damage, especially on a moving vehicle, can produce linear cuts rather than straight punctures – I’ve spent enough time in the back of beyond that I’ve become a LOT more familiar with different forms of tire damage than I personally would consider desirable. )
It’s still a good idea for Cindy to keep her head down as I’m a long way from saying “aw, they wouldn’t do that…”
IUi am a mechanic, and know what it takes. As I said, a cht, specially with a knoife would not be repairable, sinbce the plugs to seal it are nor wide enough. You could try using several, but then the mechanic would be liable.
