You can tune in to the YouTube/CNN debate here. Hillary Clinton is explaining what ‘liberal’ means right now. And please welcome Natasha to the front-page. She does most of her blogging at Pacific Views and will be covering issues in the Middle East, labor, and agriculture policy.

What crap that is. It never stops. More information and more information which can be freely passed on to third parties. The police state is being perfected. And the stupid Europeans are complicit. They are not the victims of U.S. pressure, they are active participants in the scam. This will be a great dissapointment to the peoples of European countries. The only solution: stay out of the U.S.
Natasha rocks; great to see her here.

Boo,
this is for you. I’m about four weeks into trying to learn Big Bill Broonzy’s “Hey, Hey.”
super cool. You did a great job.
over in orange, Markos is preaching purge. Historically this has always led to lots of new Tribbers. Though I hope the libertarian trolls don’t come this way.
This evening, I had a water aerobics class and then a discussion group at church. Didn’t even know there was going to be a debate tonight. At this hour, I simply can’t wrap my mind around the notion of getting caught up on the story so far. I mean, the Daily Show is coming on soon.
There’s a thought. Tomorrow’s Daily Show will probably give me the basics.
Since it is an open thread, though, I wanted to share a link to some funny fake Harry Potter spoilers.

● Turkish Muslim Party Wins Landslide
● US Raids Umm al-Qura Mosque in Baghdad
● Police fear safety of Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani after assassination of close aide
(Telegraph) May 2006 – The most influential moderate Shia leader in Iraq has abandoned attempts to restrain his followers, admitting that there is nothing he can do to prevent the country sliding towards civil war.
Aides say Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani is angry and disappointed that Shias are ignoring his calls for calm and are switching their allegiance in their thousands to more militant groups which promise protection from Sunni violence and revenge for attacks.
A series of snubs had contributed to Ayatollah al-Sistani’s decision. “He asked the politicians to ask the Americans to make a timetable for leaving but they disappointed him,” he said. “After the war, the politicians were visiting him every month. If they wanted to do something, they visited him. But no one has visited him for two or three months. He is very angry that this is happening now. He sees this as very bad.”

I admit that I thought this whole YouTube/CNN format would be lame. Oh was I wrong. This was the best FORMAT for a debate that I’ve ever seen. I love how the questions came from real people in their homes who would not normally fight to go to some public debate. It was just more democratic that way. And NO Beltway Elite Pundits or “Journaminimalists” asking what they think the polls/horse race needs answered. Just real stuff. Wow. And Anderson Cooper was the best choice for a moderator, though others could do the format.
Usually I like the (Jim Lehrer/PBS) format or the “Town Hall” style but this was just the best yet, at least for a large group of participants. Just imagine Wolf Blitzer or Brit Hume asking about whether they support gay marriage, rather than the gals from Brooklyn and the black southern preacher – who did it in their own words. NO Comparison.
The White House assures us that we need not be “alarmed” about Bush’s health. He had a colon exam and several polyps were removed from his ass.
I am concerned nonetheless — does this mean Tony Blair and Lieberman are now homeless?
no, but it means Bush is now headless.
glad to have here at bt.
