If the Netroots were to get organized and really promote a primary challenge or two against wayward Democrats, which politicians do you think would be most deserving? To assist you, here is some information about Blue Dogs that Chris Bowers has assembled: link and link.
Of course, some Senators have proven highly unsatisfactory, as well. We only have twelve up for re-election, however, so our options are limited.
Let’s start planning now for a run against Salazar.
With what candidate? And what are the particular offenses that we would use to articulate our rationale?
hear, hear!!!!
and find a real progressive to challenge udall for allard’s seat….he’s not much better, imnsho.
seen any outreach from either of them during the break tehanu?…you know, meet the constituents, town hall kinds of things…l sure as hell haven’t.

Hmm, who is a good target….
If I had my druthers I would primary Feinstein, she is practically a Bush Dog and too conservative for California, but she isn’t up for election besides we have more leverage on smaller races.
Looking just at the numbers I would say we go after Lipinski with that D+10, it is a very safe seat especially in a Presidential year. Besides in a more Democratic seat there should be more progressive primary voters. That seat really sticks out most of those Bush Dogs are in Republican leaning districts or marginally Democratic by less than a point. Cooper and Costa are in the +4 to +6 range but not the same level.
I would stay away from primary challenges to any of the R leaning districts this time. It isn’t worth our effort to primary someone if we aren’t sure that our horse can win, and it sends the wrong signal. I really like the better fit for the district rhetoric.
Specifically Reps like Chris Carney are probably going to lose this time around his victory was against some serious scandal and the R’s will really give him a run. If we want to protest their votes perhaps we should stop sending cash to some of those who we supported before.
It’s the Blue Dogs that are the worst, the most infuriating, the most disloyal.
With a presidential approval rating of around 30%, depending on which poll you read, we shouldn’t assume that past Republican performance will guarantee future Republican results. We should assume that the Republicans don’t have any safe districts anymore. That’s 50-state, that’s the way we should play from now on.
Mike McIntyre (D-Fort Bragg) for one.
