Amongst Washington’s power elite it is difficult to imagine a couple with more opportunity to halt this country’s descent into madness than Senator Jay and Sharon Percy Rockefeller.
Jay Rockefeller has a history of rubber stamping Republican reports. Upon learning of the administration’s plan for illegal spying, Jay Rockefeller wrote a stern letter. Think if Rockefeller had blown the whistle, maybe it would not have been necessary for Russell Tice to put his job on the line.
Then there is Sharon Percy Rockefeller, President and CEO of the local PBS station, WETA. The NewsHour and Washington Week are produced by WETA, which is solely responsible for it content.
Every false allegation made by Republicans concerning Whitewater, Gore, the Florida miscount, Iraq, and now Iran, has been trumpeted by both of these programs. No corrections have ever been made. These programs even blew smoke about the CIA leak case, amazing when one considers that the CIA is in WETA’s home viewing area. Sharon Percy Rockefeller has completely failed to maintain quality and has permitted a national resource to be perverted into an instrument for propaganda.
It is too easy to blame Bush for everything. He had many accomplices, the Rockefellers are two of them.
