The San Diego Chargers came to play today. This is an entertaining and competitive game. But it’s still water torture waiting to watch the New York Football Giants run onto Lambeau Field.

Classy.
Some day I’ll have to get one of those fast internets so I can access these things.
But this looks pretty bad even on dial-up.
WW, I’ve still got that dial-up disease too. (But @ $9.99/mo, it’s a hard habit to break.)
Since they can’t go with the “Obama fathered a black baby” route, they’ll just go with the Muslim smear. Again. Gee, I wonder if the Muslim community in America is going to stand up for themselves.
HAHAHAHAHA
That would be too much like right.
Do you know this campaign has me staying away from the mosque just because of the “Shh…let’s not talk about that” of the people. Yeah, heaven forbid they rock the boat.
Hmm…gonna be cold in Green Bay today.
i bleed blue.
I love They Might Be Giants!
Sorry, wrong Giants, I suppose. But when these “open” threads are centered around sports, they might as well be written in another language. For me, it’s like in the Peanuts’ specials, where all the adults just sounded like “Wah waaah waah waah waaaaaa.”
well, it’s impossible to hijack an open thread…you can talk about any kind of giants that you want.
of this “robocall”?
I’m rooting for the Pats to go all the way. Don’t like the coach, or Moss for that matter, but I want to have them shut up 72 Dolphins, whom I didn’t care about until Mercury Morris stopped snorting and started talking.
The Pats-Chargers game has seemed to be without much energy even though the play has been good. Are the fans to cold to react? Are they undermiked?
The late game should be fun. Really cold. I’m rooting for the Packers but my mom loves “Lil Eli.”
If I hear one of those fossils discuss how great their team was, or how they will petition for an asterisk on this year’s record book because of Tapegate, I am gonna projectile-vomit.
ANYTHING to stop the Dolphins from having those nauseating dinners every year. They must serve Metamucil cocktails at those babies.
The Chargers kicked field goals instead of TDs. That was the difference.
Pack-Giants should be fun. Why are the FOX crew freezing their butts off outside? They look really uncomfortable.
To all those Giants fans who will come up disappointed at the result of the game this evening, don’t despair. The Giants had a great comeback over the last half of the season and did what Green Bay might not have been able to do in Dallas, beat the Cowboys.
But it ain’t cozy New Jersey up there in frigid Green Bay and even losing by a field goal is a win, sort of.
eh?
sorry, did you say something?
No, no. But what you write after a few beers somehow sounds different the next morning. Below it is worse.
I just back home from the Doo Dah Parade. Here’s one of the entries.
yeah, but the Chargers had a 3-0 lead, too.
Reminds me of the story of the guy who fell off a 30 story building. As he passed each floor people heard him say: “So far, so good”.
so I guess we are vacation CHeeseheads.
Go GB!!
I like what i see so far. Did you see the first guy Jacobs hit say, ‘I’m alright’?
Yeah…
62 and fair here in the desert, i bet some of them wished all of the big games were played here instead of the arctic zone.
is on the day the music died.
For those who may confused by the commentator idiocy: -3 is actually colder than -1. Not that it matters much at such a low level. brrrrr
It’s been a very long time since I posted here….but I can’t remember why I stopped! SO here I am again!
welcome back!
Hey plf,
Good to see you back!
Overtime…
Time to regroup and take it.
If the Giants lose, Lawrence Tynes is going to be the most-hated man in the Big Apple tomorrow. Wonder how the back pages of the dailies would chronicle that.
Interception! This is great football.
He says … sitting in the warmth of, what was it? 60 degrees?
it’s a chilling 55 now, though the patio door is still open.
Giants win! I’m glad that there will be no dark moods in the Philly area from BooMan.
ah but one of my close friends is a Packers friend. He was at the game last week.
Suicide watch.
Packers FAN. I was distracted by all the male hugging.
oh…my…gawd.
Did they make that difficult enough?
shall i make an attempt at snagging a shirt for you in Glendale? I may be in the area that weekend.
that’d be awesome. And if you find any tickets….
right. i’ll keep an eye out in case anyone leaves them lying around 😉
Huge pick. Did Favre just throw away his last shot at a Super Bowl?
Tynes redeemed himself…crazy game. I was sure he had no shot from 47 yards after screwing up from much closer.
I would’ve loved to see the Packers up against the Patriots…oh well. Maybe Favre gives it one more shot next year?
Not likely. When Green Bay loses in these critical games, it is always Fauve who screws up. He is incapable of winning the big one. And it is always because he deviates from the game plan.
Congratulations to the Giants.
Even though Giants fans are the worse sucking people on earth, The New York crowd, the team did it anyway. Nervous guy misses a field goal and they were ready to string him up. Now they want to kiss his ass. Don’t understand people like these. Time for the Giants to make the move to New Jersey.
From now on I will think of them as the New Jersey Giants.
Fuck you with a smile :o)
My apology. Congratulations.
I was on the phone with my 82 year-old mom (lving in New Jersey but having grown up in Mississippi) as the fourth quarter wound down. The way she talks about “Lil Eli” I think I’m the second-best in her eye.
Howie Long looks like a Bolshevik on the post-game show.
It should be a fun Super Bowl.
Keeping the announcers out there for post-game seems incredibly unnecessary.
I think they’re well compensated for their duress :o)
