Turn on your local PBS station and watch Bill Moyers tonight. Should be a good one. Also, Olbermann was in rare form tonight. You could do worse than watch the rerun. What’s frivolous in your life?

just notice the car odometer hit 300,000
Dang. Long lived car. What make/model???
Who is on Bill Moyers tonight? Is is worth prying myself away from the computer? Maybe I should pry myself away from the computer so I don’t have to read about the latest Clinton outrage. Their “it’s not illegal unless someone says so” routine is starting to make me loathe them as much as I loathe George W. Bush. And to think of all the hours I wasted defending these people back in the nineties. Reminds me of a line from an old Bob Dylan song: “I was so much older than, I’m younger than that now.”
Here’s to youth!! A wonderful weekend to all!

Chicken, jalapeños, beans, hominy, other stuff. And trying to figure out why my from-scratch brownies don’t have that little flakey layer on top. That one has me stumped.
It’s a bitch when you have to make it yourself and can’t find the right pesticides to add to get that cool crusty stuff Betty Crocker’s mix always had.
On the otherhand, homemade brownies are soooo much better than celery.
is it frivolous, or seriously stupid, that I’m going to drive 30 miles in a pouring rainstorm with chance of mudslides to see a concert?
I expect it will be worth it – Los Lobos is one of my favorite bands. Here’s what they did last night
I don’t expect all those guests to show up, but I expect a couple hours of really good music.
Neither – mandatory, I’d say. Lucky you – enjoy!!!
Does anybody know why we don`t see Mr. Ware, reporting the truth from Iraq anymore?
Working on a book due out in 2009.
mainsailset,
Thank you,
That`s another one I`ll be reading.
He was never afraid to tell the truth, especially when correcting delusional politicians.
Moment of silence…
He was 23.
Thank you, Manee. That headline almost did me in.
I’m curious whether there was any sign of froggy dementia at that advanced age.
He was overheard muttering incoherantly…something about frogmarching the criminals out of the White House. Obviously a delusional frog :o)
must have been a slow day at work, no
Meaning me?
If so, I didn’t work yesterday, which qualifies as a slow day. Why do you ask?
To clarify, I think there’s been mass delusion about frogmarching anyone. Me being the definition of walking delusion. My comment wasn’t specific to anyone.
On second thought,
maybe I should vet my blogging itinerary with you the next time I have a day off and feel like posting what I think at several different sites.
Please let me know, will ya?
No, I meant Manny..just kinda wondering how he found that story??
I’m not edgy and defensive! Nope, not me :o/
Sorry about that A4L. I’m a little overly pressed from a lot of different directions lately and I guess I’ve gotten too used to counterpunching.
My apologies for making assumptions about your meaning.
Peace
you shouldn’t be stressed Jessica Romo did her job!
Ha!
Thanks :o)
Yes, frivolous: I haven’t seen Countdown in about a year (no TV) & am disturbed by KO’s weight gain. It doesn’t look healthy.
Secondly: the sight of Huckabee & cadre jogging along the steamy Fort Lauderdale beach only reinforces my opinion that he is an ass.
John Grisham: people in the south (Alabama, Mississippi, for example), “live poor and vote rich.” Note that I didn’t even mention Kansas.
This apparent truism makes clear that the Democrats are not doing enough to educate the public, about their own interests. Given that populism is not a winning strategy, without discussing the poor, there are numerous issues that the public is capable of warming up to: tax breaks for the wealthy, growing economic inequality, corporate welfare, offshore tax havens, deficits, federal and state, the National Debt, the yearly interest on the National Debt, increasing costs of education, and other programs inhibited by the unequal tax burden.
Should Democrats fear insulting the wealthy?
Well it’s the middle of winter over here and vegetables like tomatoes and cucumbers are all coming from greenhouses so the price is through the ROOF. But I was just calculating prices here in dollars and curious how much they cost in other places.
So here they are in US dollars/pound:
Cucumbers: 1.18
Tomatoes: 1.18
Potatoes: 0.18
Bananas: 1.45
I’m curious how much vegetables cost where you live.
P.s. the bananas all come from Latino America hence the big price. We get our citrus stuff like oranges from Turkey mostly. I saw some decent lemons today but no idea where they hail from.

Oh gosh I forgot to mention I just saw that Clementine pears just starting arriving en masse from France this week – JEEZ those looked delicious but I didn’t buy any today.

I just went shopping a couple of days ago, and bought potatoes and bananas.
Michigan white potatoes (I live in Michigan) were $2.49 for a 10 lb bag, so about 0.25 / lb.
Bananas (with a USDA organic sticker, for whatever THAT is worth) were 0.49 / lb.
