This is pretty interesting.
TOPEKA | With a boost from Kansans for Life, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee trounced John McCain today in Kansas’ GOP caucuses.
With all counties reporting, Huckabee won 11,627, or 60 percent, to McCain’s 4,587, or 24 percent. Texas Congressman Ron Paul trailed in third place with 2,182, or 11 percent.
What do the numbers mean?
“John McCain has a lot of work to do to get the Republican Party solidly behind him,” answered Kris Kobach, Kansas GOP chairman.
Other returns should start coming in shortly.
I’m so stunned I’m seeing double.
Er, I thought I saw double.
Either way, how humiliating for McCain. Heh.
Not feeling very grown up tonight. Anyone else notice the sound go out on the Obama/ youth vote segment on CNN? They kept bragging about their crack reporting team, producers and we kept yelling back at the screen to get some sound people.
They’ve already called Nebraska for Obama, and he’s up about 69-31% there. Not a huge surprise.
But, reports on the ground point to an absolute blowout for Obama in Washington (maybe between 60% and 70%), which is pretty impressive, since the last poll had the race at 50-45%.
Exit polls look good for O in Louisiana, too, per Kos.
Result in from Washington:
37% reporting
Obama – 67%
Clinton – 32%
Obama wins Washington, according to CNN
Wow. If those percentages stay the same, there’s no way the Clintons spin this one. They were campaigning there, so they must have figured they’d have a decent shot at a good showing, if not a win (given that poll I mentioned). This was quite a “thumpin’,” as Junior would say.
MSNBC calls it for Obama.
73% of vote counted
Barack Obama has been projected to be the winner of the Nebraska Democratic presidential caucuses by the Associated Press. With 73 percent counted, Obama has 69 percent of the vote compared to Clinton’s 31 percent.
Obama claims voting irregularities widespread in Lousiana as per his website. Voters showed up to vote only to find their party affliation had been switched to Independent or unaffliated.
Hmmmmm.
That’s twice this has happened now, isn’t it — the other being California?
yes same in CA
huh? does one of you have a link for this?
I’m in CA. The problems here that I’ve heard about are:
I have NOT heard in CA of dems being unregistered.
I don’t know the details and don’t have a link (sorry). If I remember correctly, it was something about independents being turned away in Southern Cal.
Ben Smith at Politico has covered it.
per MSNBC.
The General wrote an interesting review of his experience at the Washington Caucuses today.
Hillary smackdown.
