Sen. Hillary R. Clinton
Washington, DC
Dear Sen.,
You say you want to be President to be a leader for the American People. Your campaign and rhetoric is showing anything but true leadership. Your negativity and whining to win at any cost are ripping the Democratic Party apart and you seem not to care at all. This is not about another line to add to your resume but about the future of America.
(cross posted @ Doing My Part For The Left, Texas Kaos)
In the last month, you have suddenly become the champion of the Florida and Michigan voters when you earlier agreed to abide by party rules when both delegations where denied. You only changed your mind when you realized you were behind in the popular vote and delegate count. Your campaign (which speaks for you) is now threatening to sue the Texas Democratic Party because you lost the caucus part of the Democratic Primary. Sounds like sour grapes or just plain whining to me. Texas is proud to have had the largest voter turn out in decades and more people active in the precinct conventions than ever before. You now want to negate all the hard work and effort people made to attend and do their best to be part of the democratic process because you didn’t win. Is this a sign of leadership or just a spoiled brat acting out?
Your callous statement that McCain is a more experienced leader in international affairs and would better handling a crisis than Barack Obama showed that you no longer care about America or the American People but just your fight to stay alive in a political campaign you are losing. The negativity of your “3 AM” ad was a tactic taken straight from Karl Rove’s play book on how to defeat Democrats and should have been beneath you but wasn’t. Your hesitation and vague answer when asked did you believe Barack Obama was a Muslim just added fire to a rumor the Republicans have been spreading for months. Instead of asking for Geraldine Ferraro to step down and apologize for her racist comments about Obama’s candidacy, you let it keep playing out in the media. If someone had stated that you were only in your position because you were female, you would have been the first one screaming at the top of your lungs.
At one time, I respected the work you had done and was proud of your candidacy and what you were bringing to the picture in American politics and history. I can only say now that I am ashamed of you and your pettiness. The Democratic Party and the Nation would be better served if you dropped out of the race and saved us all from your fight to stay alive in a race you have lost. You seem to have forgotten the big picture. This is about America- not Hillary.
Respectfully yours,

Worried Democrat
I agree.
The HRC campaign I fear will do lasting damage to the D party, not just for the Nov election, but on into th future. Goodbye to most of any coattail effect across the hinterlands should she be the nominee.
And what’s really peculiar is that I now have Democrat friends who are as strident over HRC as those diehard believers still supporting the Bush Admn.
I have friends who are supporting Hillary who say they will not vote for Obama and vice versa which seems totally insane to me. I will vote for the nominee no matter who it is but I dislike the tone and tenor Hillary has taken to win at all cost….even at the risk of losing the White House and all down ticket races.
I’m no longer a yellow dog Democrat; the Clintons have seen to that. Under no circumstances will I vote for Hillary Clinton. none. not in a million years.
She’s a liar. Here’s a tiny example.
“Your callous statement that McCain is a more experienced leader in international affairs and would better handling a crisis than Barack Obama showed that you no longer care about America or the American People but just your fight to stay alive in a political campaign you are losing.”
Just days ago on Morning Edition, NPR to the question of Steve Inskeep on why she is promoting McCain over Obama, she denied praising McCain.
Incredulous.
Same here.
I’ve kind of resigned myself to the fact that every time I walk into the voting booth, I have to betray some of my principles to vote for anyone at all. In the best of circumstances, voting is a sickening experience that leaves me feeling dirty.
I just can’t do it for Hillary Clinton. Betraying some of my principles is one thing; betraying most of them is quite another. A Democratic candidate really does have to offer something beyond not being a Republican, especially a military-industrial stooge Liebercrat like Clinton.
There is no good reason to oppose Obama. He hasn’t encouraged the seating of delegates won through a non-contest. He hasn’t said McCain is more qualified than Clinton. He has never done anything that would be objectionable to a true Democrat.
The same cannot be said of Clinton.
Any Clinton supporter who won’t vote for Obama probably wasn’t a real democrat to begin with. But it really doesn’t work in reverse.
I was gonna say that’s how I feel about Hillary, but hey – that’s how I feel about george too.
Seems like we’re stuck in some kind of groudhog day event doesn’t it?
Good letter, Refinish – she’ll get the message eventually.
Or, (as AG would say) we will –

Worried Earthling
Hillary is not listening.
Her top donors have threatened the DNC
She wants Texas to postpone party conventions
If she can’t have the nomination, she’ll take down the party.
I expect any time now that Hillary will turn on Pelosi for not remaining neutral.
but I have to tell you, I cannot in all good conscience and integrity vote for Billary under any circimstances because if she wins now, which is mathematically impossible, she has done so by cheating.
SHE is the one that is tearing the party apart. What makes people think that she will lead this country back together if she is doing that to her own party. She is an egomaniac and she Bill have had a pact for years to try and achieve this.
And if she thinks McBush is so great, why not ask to be his VP seeing they are so close are the issues, especially the illegal occupation of Iraq.

she may follow Lieberman into their arms. Oh wait she’s already there.
Hillary is no Democrat or democrat
divacRAT seems apropos
TY!!! It is sad that I even had to write this at all.
doing your part refinish
but Hillary is in a state of denial, a Mike Luckovich carton
Honestly, the traits that she shares with Shrub are frightening. Both are just complete narcissists with huge senses of entitlement. She can’t win and knows it, but will screw it up for Obama and downticket. Mighty big of you there, Hil.
She and the other dittohead children need to get out of the way of the adults.
But. If mutually assured destruction is what she continues to sow, then mutually assured destruction is what she shall reap.
HRC is pushing ahead, off to raise a ton of money with Elton John doing a one night stand.
