The Chester County, Pennsylvania Obama headquarters opened today.
These nice ladies greeted people and signed them up.
Once inside, you could get free cookies.
Or, if you were little, you could make your own Obama posters.
The place filled up quite quickly.
Former Senator Harris Wofford showed up to greet everyone, but we left before that because it was getting a little claustrophobic.
Nothing remotely comparable is going on with Clinton’s campaign or her supporters.
Well I hope you’re doing your part for the campaign, Boo.
Yes, BooMan will get company doing his part .
NPR, Morning Edition reports:
Obama will be in Oregon today and Gov. Bill Richardson is expected to join him.
This can’t be good news for Hillary, especially coming right after the speech, and overnight, the photo of Jeremiah Wright with President Bill Clinton at the White House.
Booman,
Thanks for posting those photos – got my juices flowing. I’ll be coming down from NY state to help the Obama campaign. Maybe if we work hard we can eliminate the last of Hillary’s ‘firewall’ states.
(I think she has had about 14 of them…)
I was there last night, and there were a LOT of people. And this is a traditionally republican area that has been shifting democratic over the years: in 2006, we elected the first democratic PA state senator in 80 years, and the seat that decided the control of the PA house of representatives was won by something like 12 votes, and the district was in chester county.
The boys and I are headed over there this afternoon to see where they need us to go out and register voters.
Wow, those are cool pics. I’m impressed that the Obama campaign is filling the house. That’s not easy to do.
Hey you guys, it’s 4:00 a.m. and Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico just endorsed Obama !!!

Great news! 🙂
He ought to know both of the candidates pretty well from teh campaign trail alone, but if Richardson rises above his friendship with the Clintons to endorse Obama, you just know that he had his reasons for thinking that the senator from Illinois is our best chance for turning the country around.
Yayayay! That’s what we need — more high-level endorsements.
Now back to work.
Looks like he’s going to do so in an appearance here in Portland later this morning. I tried to get tickets to this event but all 13,000 or so went within about an hour of being released. I’ll have to DVR the speech, they’re supposedly running it live on our local NBC affiliate. I’ll be curious to see whether Hillary can muster that kind of excitement when she visits.
Looks like a nice start there.
It does, doesn’t it?
What’s the local buzz on re-voting in your neck of the woods?
Both Obama & Clinton are opening headquarters around Indiana, a novel experience for a state that hasn’t seen a presidential candidate since Bobby Kennedy. Our county chairman said maybe we’ll have a surprise visit from one or both candidates at our Jefferson-Jackson dinner this year. Well after all, there has to be at least 3000 potential Democratic voters here in our county;-)
Thanks for the on-scene report, Boo & friend.
Great pics – my compliments to the photographer 🙂
I hope you have some good weather for registering those last voters this weekend. It’s nice to see people excited.
Is anythign comparable happeningin McCain’s headquarters? Cause .. it’s ..like, good to know these things ^^
