Holy crap, fifty-four hundred?
Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., will be speaking at Penn State on Sunday morning at 11:30 on the Old Main lawn, two sources close to the campaign confirmed today.
As part of his tour across Pennsylvania, Obama will be making a stop in State College, Greg Stewart, co-chair of Obama’s Pennsylvania field team, said.
Michael Stewart, president of Penn State Students for Barack Obama, also confirmed Obama’s appearance and said it is a direct result of his organization registering 5,400 Penn State students as Democrats.
Okay…that’s crazy. Penn State Students for Barack Obama registered 5,400 students as Democrats? How many did Hillary’s group register? Here’s a little perspective. In the 2002 gubernatorial primary between Ed Rendell and Bob Casey, here were the results for Centre County, where Penn State resides.
Ed Rendell 3,971 52.5%
Bob Casey Jr. 3,597 47.5%
Now…consider what 5,400 new Barack Obama votes means to the likely outcome in Centre County. Michael Stewart and his crew could come out of this election as legends.
Of course, Man Eegee remains our stud-like hoss.
I;m not sure there are very many people around who remember that…LINK
Wow, I musta missed that one. All bow down the stud!
I was already preparing my GBCFP post…
π
I’m shocked, SHOCKED, that anyone would objectify you in this way.
it’s all good, gives me leverage to post a pic of a razor every once in a while π
Those numbers are incredible. Let’s hope they actually vote.
That isn’t just a head turner, that’s a head snapper offer.
that’s good to know. I’m on the phones in PA.
Senator Chris Dodd is all for ending it right after Indiana
Yay!
Poll: Obama leads Clinton nationally
guess Obama will need to get across that 25% (one in four) divide. Prejudices die hard, if ever.
I’ve seen other polls that are closer, but I sure like this one. π
And even the close ones have him ahead. I’m interested in seeing the numbers once Tuzla has had a chance to sink in.
Pew seems to skew Democratic, doesn’t it? I vaguely remember it having Kerry up by a half-decent margin before his debacle in 2004.
Hey there! I hate to invoke AOL, but you have mail.
:<)
Got it!
I love your new sig.
Oh, and by the way, DUCK! Here comes another one!
Thanks. Now watch out for the shrapnel!
π
I noticed that Obama got the endorsement of Jay Paterno, son of the legendary football coach at Penn State, so there’s some kinda Obama thing going on in that town…
I also noticed that Bob Casey is endorsing Barack Obama.
Hmmm. Payback’s a…
Haha. It was an amazing thing to participate in and witness this event. I think there were at least 300 student volunteers that made this happen. And they all annoyed the crap out of everyone on campus with two incessant questions: Are you registered to vote? (If yes) Are you registered in Centre County? I hope that Mike Stewart gets to be an Obama delegate. He deserves it.
Those are amazing numbers. I hope each and every one shows up to vote.
