It looks like we have a new Democratic member of the House. With all precincts reporting, Don Cazayoux has pulled a stunning upset in Louisiana’s Sixth District.
“Don” Cazayoux (D)- 49,702 49.20%
Louis “Woody” Jenkins (R) – 46,741 46.27%
Cazayoux was behind all night until some precincts in East Baton Rouge came in and erased an early, and seemingly unsurmountable, lead for Woody Jenkins. The Republicans will be pulling their hair out over this. They tried to tar Cazayoux by tying him to Nancy Pelosi and the Reverend Wright, and it didn’t work. The Realignment continues!!
Not only that but the NRCC spent a huge percentage of their available cash trying to save this seat. I love it.
