It’s bad enough that Southern Methodist University faculty doesn’t want Bush’s stinky presidential library, but it seems like the whole religious sect denomination of Methodists feels the same way. That’s gotta hurt.

That’s rough. I wouldn’t be surprise if they’d have to buy a plot of land or use strong-arm tactics to get anyone to take the library.
“religious sect”? Do you mean denomination?
Yes please change that as Methodist are a denomination.
I was part of a United Methodist congregation. They’re fairly liberal, at least in San Francisco. I suspect that the congregations tend to reflect the politics of the neighborhood.
Off topic: Given the obvious fury he shows, I think John McCain is going to have a stroke if Obama keeps screwing with him in these back-and-forths on press releases.
Hilarious.
chimpy’s so radioactive, the knesset’s about the only place he can find an appreciative audience.
The library has received significant criticism from SMU faculty, Methodist ministers and the public because of an attached institute — independent of the university — that will sponsor programs designed to “promote the vision of the president” and “celebrate” Bush’s presidency.
The only thing I want to “celebrate” about Bush’s “presidency” is its termination.
Gotta hurt… and leave a mark.
He wouldn’t even talk to his bishop, which his bishop requested, prior to launching the Iraq War. I’m not surprised his denomination and the hierarchy are not pleased with him.
Hurrah for the Methodists!! Too bad they don’t believe in excommunication.. {g}
