Just  a quick idea:

The most important aspect of the presidential race is bringing all the pundits on board so that they don’t feel left out, don’t get their feelings hurt, and don’t need to clutch their pearls on the way to the swooning couch. If we can keep them happy, then perhaps they won’t spend the next four years manufacturing their own narrative and we, the nation, can move forward.

How can we do this?  By engineering a race they can love, and understand.  And this is where the simplicity of my idea really will pay off.

Let us demand that Obama pick McCain as his running mate, and McCain can pick Obama.  Its a win, win, win.  No more pouty, confused pundits; really no need for journalism at all.  Just sit back and flick on teh teevee.  What could be better?
