I know that no one is here right now, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to swing by tomorrow.  I decided to fill part of my time for the next year with my own little blog.  Here it is http://tunneltraveller.blogspot.com/

    Stop by and visit.

Another no sleep night.  Andi I forgot your letters for it.  This time it wasn’t FMom keeping me up.  Well she sort of started it.  She woke me up saying she heard something knocking in the house.  This happened twice and I tell her it’s nothing.  Just about when I get back to sleep I hear something crash like glass breaking.  I jump out of bed and look inside and outside the house.  Still nothing.  Needless to say by this time I’m fully awake and there’s no going back to bed.  FMom is now scared and me being the fearless person I am, I’ve now got my heavy Maglite I’m carrying with me anytime I leave my room.  I’m going to check the attic in the morning, but I’m not going up there during the night.  Nope might be monsters up there. 🙂

They call FMom at least 2-3 times a day and they keep her updated on when they’re going to get here.  The thing about it is they never get here when they say they are.  So I tell FMom to take what they say with a grain of salt.

My mom’s house used to have possum problems. Their little fingers can get in everywhere and did. I heard some crashing and banging one night and flipped on the outside lights and there was this gaggle of them, all standing on their hindlegs (each about 40# !!!) rocking and rolling the garbage cans to get into them. They slid windows open and got into the attic, all in all makes one a little jittery. Hope yours are critter problems and not the human kind.

        Hiya mainsailset.

Possums were the first thing that came to mind last night.  I used to leave cat food out in the carport all night for Tom (our outside cat).  I’ve gone out into the carport more than a couple of times and ran up on a possum.  I’m sure it’s a critter problem, but I’ve got to find where it’s getting in at.

      Morning CG.

This week has seemed to go by pretty fast.  Those 4 weeks of algebra will fly by in no time and instead of wanting to go to the beach, you’ll want more algebra.  ðŸ™‚

We’re supposed to get rain today and tomorrow.  Now that we’ve got someone doing the lawn, I’m all for it.  Let that grass grow, I don’t care. :O

      • CabinGirl
CabinGirl on June 26, 2008 at 7:34 am

Hmmm…the algebra class is nice in that it gives us a little structure to our day and gets us up and out early, but I won’t miss using the gas to get there and back when it’s over.

I think my lawn mower is on strike this week.  Might have to go to my second string lawn mower dude (aka CBtY).  ðŸ™‚

        • Family Man
Family Man on June 26, 2008 at 7:50 am

Before I asked CBtY to do the lawn, I’d let him know that he’s the first string lawn mower dude and the bestest lawn mower dude around.  Never hurts to give their ego a little boost before you tell them they’ve got to mow the yard. 🙂

Speaking of cars and gas.  My car wouldn’t start yesterday and it might be the battery.  I put it to charging last night and this morning there was nothing but a click when I tried to start it.  So I’ve got to go and take the battery out of the car, and then to an auto parts store to see if the battery is OK.  I’m sort of hoping the battery is the problem, because if it isn’t then I’ve probably got a bigger problem then replacing the battery.

I guess I should go and start getting the battery out of the car.  Everyone have a good day.

CabinGirl on June 26, 2008 at 7:59 am

Bummer about the car battery….I hope it’s the battery and not the alternator.

Hey, did I mention that my car smells okay now?  I am soooo happy about that, even if it took away my excuse for getting that little Vespa scooter.

Good morning ask! Our electronic toys can certainly be annoying at times! Mrs. Dem’s work network server began locking up recently and it turned out to be the external drive I’d installed to make backups. Simple solution, but it took me a couple of weeks to realize what the cause was.

the problems started after downloading some anti virus and spyware software (recommended by a site I trust); I guess the registry is a big mess after many downloads (and uninstalls); young asklet tends to check out lots of games when he’s here.

The worst incident I was involved with was at a not-for-profit organization where a couple of the volunteers amused themselves at an online gambling site. The trash that came down was nearly impossible to get rid of, including a particularly annoying browser hijacker. The organization eventually wound up scrapping the computer entirely.

YASN OR YAWN.  Which ever one you pick they’re both the same thing.  No sleeping tonight.

We had a nice little thunderstorm that came through yesterday afternoon.  George tickled me during the storm.  I’ve told ya’ll how he hates to get wet and even if there’s dew on the grass he’ll hold it and wait to go out until it dry.  During the storm he let me know he needed to go out.  I figured I’d take him to the door, he’d see the rain and turn right around.  He must had really needed to go.  He went straight to the middle of the lawn to do his bidness.  It was pouring down rain with thunder and lighting.  Like I said he must have really had to go.

So how is everyone’s weekend going?  I might be awake when someone comments or I might not be.  You’ll have to wait and see. 🙂

            There better be rewards…

What’s going on in the forest today?

Nothing much. We’ve had some storms but today the chance is only 40%.

            Great image!
Could be a movie poster for a really sinister plot.

Thanks, Ask. I was just noticing that it’s really grainy (I had to use a high iso because it was so dark) — I probably should have messed with it more.

That’s beautiful.  Dark, brooding skies are my favorite.  I’m hoping for some rain today and maybe a break from the heat.

I love watching storms. It was thundering and lightning when I took this but the rain hadn’t started so I stayed outside till it did.

I like storms too, except when we get them almost everyday of the week.  It’s hard to make plans to go places that are outdoors.

Sorry about the storms. Hope you have better weather today.

Bye Toni — I’m off to walk.

Another sunny day here in, uhm, paradise…nice and humid too.  It’s like a free sauna!

I’m trying to remind myself that it’s perfect yoga weather, but I really don’t like the humidity.

Andi, I agree with SN, that’s a great picture.

FM, I’m sorry you’ve had sucha  losy week of sleep.  Here’s hoping tonight will be restful.

Ask, it sounds like swimmer is having a great time, and you have a busy afternoon ahead of you.

And hi to anyone who might have snuck in while I was posting this.

You get your own Bikram hot yoga session for free!

Things, um, exciting at your place?

CabinGirl on June 29, 2008 at 8:25 am

Yeah, but I’m not a fan of Bikram…I have to quickly drink a lot of water this morning so my blood pressure won’t bottom out during class. Ick.

Um, yep:  exciting in a wannabe-Spiderman climbs the walls kind of way. 😉

I think the best part was when walked up to the officer while he was still getting all the kids names and before we even got a phone call.  Luckily he wasn’t one of those prick-y cops, and he had snuck up on them and knew they hadn’t been doing anything other than sitting there talking.  Dorks.

I think my car needs hand-detailing today by one of the offenders, don’t you?  And then we can move on to powerwashing the patio.

Yeah, I was thinking of the spidey thing too, and knowing that young men can be stupid but still not have evil intent. 🙂

Car stuff is fun though…maybe the bathroom floors need to be toothbrushed…

Yep.  And none of them had any evil intent (although the girl who was so pissed off she got caught that she wouldn’t even sit with them while the cop got all their information left me totally unimpressed – what kind of friend does that?).

Now, about that toothbrushing thing…  ðŸ™‚

      Hi CG and thanks.

The humidity dropped here yesterday afternoon and it’s cooled off some so maybe some relief is heading your way.

Not cool, just cooler (upper 70s/low 80s).

Big plans right this moment — go for walk.

          Ta.
