Frivolous Friday Open Thread

Think hard:

The top executives of America’s biggest companies are more willing to open their wallets for John McCain than his Democratic rival, donating 10 times as much to the Arizona senator’s campaign as to Barack Obama’s.

Why do you think that is?

  1. maybe they see this coming to a end:

Two-thirds of U.S. corporations paid no federal income taxes between 1998 and 2005, according to a new report from Congress.

The study by the Government Accountability Office, expected to be released Tuesday, said about 68 percent of foreign companies doing business in the U.S. avoided corporate taxes over the same period.

Collectively, the companies reported trillions of dollars in sales, according to GAO’s estimate.

    ya think?

  2. The reason is that McCain’s backers realize that politicians of all stripes, especially at the national level, are basically dishonest hookers.  Dishonest because they won’t admit they are selling their favors for material gain.  And, quality hookers always bring top dollar.  It’s just a matter of economics, you see. Money for a lot more money,

McCain’s donors know that investing in him will bring them rich returns.  It’s called the American Way and the odor of corruption is getting kind of bad.  So goes another empire on that long, dreary list of fallen regimes.

American democracy has become sort of a joke.  What a tragedy this nation has so many nuclear weapons.
