I have influenza, which has pretty much turned my brain to mush over the last 24 hours. I am still hoping that the fallout from Hurricane Ike won’t ruin the economy. I’m worried about the death-toll in Galveston. I see that the tallest building in Houston lost its windows on one side.

Well, at least your thinking apparatus is still intact. It’s a weekend, and time to slow down anyway. Get well.
Fell better, Booman. The flu is already making it’s way through the campus where I work. I’ve been washing my hands every chance I get and steering clear of the three folks in my department who have it (and still came to work – grrr).
I haven’t seen any news reports on the death toll (except for the one person who was washed off the jetty). Any updates out there?

here’s hoping that it isn’t as destructive and fatal as predicted, but it’s going to be days before the extent of the damage and death toll is know. on the surface, it doesn’t appear to be as severe as the 1900 hurricane.
