Obama has one thing standing between him and a really good showing this Nov.
Racist voters.
He is doing well in the battleground states. Every time he debates, he will win, because he will sound like a normal person, not a black nationalist repatriation freak. But still, there are racists out there, and the racists, otherwise known as the values blue-collar voters, are gonna be a hard nut.
How to conquer the racists?
I think that there is a strategy. The strategy is “The Democratic Team”
We all know that politics is a team sport. We vote for our team. The team is headed by the quarterback. But, and this is the but, the quarterback is not the team, he is the team leader.
When you vote for a president, you are selecting a team, and a quarterback. When the team comes in, the quarterback then selects the linemen, the wide-outs, the running backs, and so forth. He doesn’t play all positions, he selects the players for those positions.
So, here’s the ad:

The Democratic Team
In Nov, you will vote for a team to run the country for the next 4 years. You pick that team by picking the quarterback. But the quarterback only leads the team. There is the running back, the wide receiver, the center, the players on the line, the players in the defensive side. When you pick the quarterback, you get a whole team.
In the last 8 years, we have had the Republican team. It’s been a disaster. The quarterback was TERRIBLE, but so was the whole team.
A vote for John McCain keeps that terrible Republican team. That’s the team that took us to Iraq, that destroyed our financial system, that raised gas prices from 1.90/gal to 4.00/gal.
Think about it: A vote for John McCain keeps that same team on. Four MORE YEARS of losing? Wow! What a terrible idea.
Vote for Barack Obama and the Democratic team.

Now here’s the clever idea: you start with some black quarterbacks, some white guys on the line, some chinese guy as a wide-out, some arab guy playing defense, and then you gradually morph into Obama as the quarterback, Biden as the running back, and so forth. You keep the faces of the rest of the team kind of hazy, but make Obama clear and really heroic looking.
Even blue collar racists in Philadelphia like Donovan McNabb, when he’s playing well. PLENTY of black quarterbacks now, and plenty of REALLY good ones.
