Earlier today a friend showed me an anti Obama hate/fear flyer she had found on her car windshield. Apparently, some wingnut slithered in and left them all over our southern Indiana town. Since I had a couple of hours to spare, I walked each street, gleefully removing every one I could find and wound up with quite a haul. Here’s a partial scan that will give you an idea of the tone:
The flyer was printed by an outfit calling itself Americans For Freedom and gave the address as PO Box 6116, Louisville, KY 40206. The rest of the thing was the usual wedge issues, gay marriage & adoption, gun ownership, partial-birth abortion, expanded drilling, tax lies, ad nauseum. I didn’t bother to scan the rest, since I didn’t want to be forced to disinfect my scanner again. You may want to watch for this ugly spew in your town too. It’s exciting being in a battleground state for a change.

I got a letter today in the mail from ‘a concerned citizen’ of my township.
It wasn’t as wingnutty as your piece, but it was wingnutty.
We’ve been dealing with a nasty situation at the local level as well. One of the Dem candidates who has been rather distant throughout the period after the primary suddenly appeared as a “team” with two republicans in a mailing Thursday. This, after we spent much time and energy promoting and training him as we do all our candidates. Now we’re trying to repudiate the guy in what time we have left. Despicable.
Good job on the trash cleanup Indianadem.
Thanks, it felt good to be doing it.
Hey there, Friend, I know it was a tough job and someone had to do it….:o)(wink, wink) Thanks for doing a “very” important job for us all. Hugs to you and the wife…
You got to be getting a gold star in Heaven for doing this one……
Hi Brenda! Hugs back to you and your family!
We were able to head off the same dirty tricks in the city to the east of here yesterday by alerting the manager at one of the big box stores. He called all the other stores in town and had his security people pick up the flyers that had been left.

(BluegrassReport.org) March 14, 2006 – A letter from the Kentucky Pro-Family Coalition, PO Box 6116, Louisville, 40206-0116 (Phone 502/895-5025) is supporting SB 236 and apparently trying to revive it. It is signed by Pastor Joe Broyles & Shirley Broyles. (and others) Part of the letter states “Some Senate legislators fear the passing of this bill 236 will draw more church members to the polls in November. Why fear this? Efforts to depress Christian voter turnout by killing SB 236 will hurt some candidates this fall.” It has a picture of each Senator that voted against SB 236 …
"But I will not let myself be reduced to silence."
Same mailing address, eh? Apparently the loonies flock together.
