Stupid Republicans:
If McConnell loses, Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) will probably ascend to the leader position. But there will be a fight for his No. 2 spot, likely between Sens. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) and John Thune (R-S.D.), according to several senior GOP aides.
Jon Kyl? The dumbest guy in your entire caucus? Really? Either Thune or Alexander might offer a way back. Kyl will lead you lower into the pits of hell. Bet on it.
Update [2008-11-4 9:33:34 by BooMan]: Check out this line to vote at 7am at Penn State University.
wow! kyl would be great! The dumber they are the better it is.
Um, that’s what we said about GWB, and look where we got. The dumber the puppet, the smarter the puppeteer.
….and as a result of GWB we got Obama.
Wow. I pretty much agree with Fred Barnes.
I love to see all those people voting, but really, can’t we figure out a better way to do this that does not involve people having to lose wages or miss classes to wait in line all day? That’s fine for people who are salaried, but what about those millions who work by the hour and don’t have any paid time off left?
Oregon System. Vote by mail. Your USPS is ready.
Shouldn’t a REAL help America vote act have addressed this issue in 2002?
The fact is, that keeping people from voting benefits the upper class enormously. Creating chaos at the polls on election day, as in 2000 in Florida, and Ohio in 2004 is far preferable to orderly smooth voting. The discouragement of voters keeps the populace away from the polls. That always benefits the power structure, whether Dem or Rep or whomever.
Of course. And remember HAVA required that the voting machines have no voting trail. It’s all about voter suppression. With mail voting, it is convenient even for 80-year-old’s in wheelchairs. If you have enough physical capacity to write checks and mail your bills, you have the capacity to vote. Don’t need a ride, your letter carrier will pick up your mail. Don’t need to stand in long lines or the rain. Don’t need to try to remember unfamiliar names in a down ticket race. Reference material, or the internet is available and private in your own home. Ask Oregonians what they think about it.
Here in Colorado, most of the voting is early voting or mail in. We had a mail in ballot but didn’t get it completed in time to mail–safely. So we went to the courthouse yesterday and dropped it in a box.
People seem very happy with this system.
And it’s pretty hard to intimidate people when they are voting in the privacy of their own homes!
Here we had early voting for two weeks….and I heard that about 40% of registered voters voted early….2.6 million of us
hasn’t that been the typical Republican tactic over the past several years? “gee, we’re digging ourselves a hole here…only way out is to dig deeper.” They have a point, I s’pose–dig deep enough and you’ll come out on the other side…or maybe you’ll strike magma and end in the raging heart of a volcano (hell yeah!)
Still…typically Republican to not take the sensible solution…..
China Syndrome?
Republicans eating each other alive, like sharks turning on their own wounded. I love it!
