Pumpkin, with mounds of whipped cream.
Pecan with chocolate chips in the bottom and Green’s vanilla ice cream.
second that.
No need to separate chocolate and pecan with a comma..chocolate pecan pie is simple and doubly yummy.
I should have added that I was going to make a cherry pie to take to my sisters but I’ve decided to make my chocolate pecan pie instead. I don’t have chocolate in my name for nothing.
My blood sugar spikes just thihking about that.
That’s my favorite with pumpkin pie a close second and apple rounding out my top three!
Blueberry. And apple, the old stand-by…
I also love pecan pie — a very rare treat.
And pumpkin pie or sweet potato pie makes a great breakfast… goes well with coffee!
Ah, pie…. (Did you catch Keith Olbermann talking about Pie yesterday, and his appearance on Martha Stewart? That was funny…)
Speaking of apple..has anyone here bought any of those ‘pear/apples’? They are so good and would make a great pie I think.
We always have Lemon Meringue.
And pumpkin, apple, cherry, pecan and probably some “new” recipe someone wants to try. We have a LOT of pie. To eat between rounds of charades 🙂
Her jaw’s been wired shut.

Why – that’s quite poetic.
Not the abstruse, recondite verse varietal; nor metered, nor rhyming. Pure poetry, nonetheless.
“ann coulter’s jaw’s been wired shut”
Pure economy of words.
Well, since she only drinks blood, it shoudn’t matter that she won’t be able to chew.
I wonder who hit her??
Permanently?
And she has to wear mittens 24/7 so she can’t type?
Please say this is true.
it’ll be long enough to prevent her from yakking about on her book tour.
Sour cream pie – it’s a lot better than it sounds {g}
Pecan please, with Brandy or Grandmarnier Chantilly Cream
All of the above.
MINCE!!!!!!
from the penn queen diner in pennsauken nj
served hot with vanilla ice cream on top
You just reminded me . . . my mother-in-law is talking about coming up to visit for Christmas. Time to put mince on the shopping list. It’s her favorite.
Yes, mince! Real mince! My sister acquired a real mincemeat recipe last year, and I’m wild about her pies now.
(The mince pies in stores are what we used to call funeral pies (for all the deaths in winter, when fresh fruit wasn’t available for making pies for the out-of-towners arriving for funerals), essentially raisin pies, but the bakeries make them sickening sweet.)
lemon meringue and pecan are my favorites.
instead of pumpkin pie I have a great recipe for a pumpkin flan (baked custard), served flaming.
my sister will be serving peach cobbler not pie, it’s a tradition from her husband’s family.
Black Forest cake with a big scoop of coffee ice cream….ymmmm.
Maryann and Ginger.
Ginger not so much.
Sweet Potato Pie. Mmmm. With whipped cream or french vanilla ice cream. And a cup of strong black coffee.
Also Apple, Cherry, Pumpkin, any kind of berry… Pie is the best.
Pi are not squared. Pi are round.

Good points, which everyone else here seem to have missed in their rush to be gourmands.
Apple, or pecan. Maryanne and Ginger, shades of the pie wars.
Apple (served cold with or without vanilla ice cream), or Pumpkin served the same way are my favorites. That is if you do not consider cheese cake to be pie. I am partial to one called triple chocolate suicide cheesecake served up by an eatery in nearby Milford, Mi. What a way to go. ;-))
Apple pie with Granny Smith apples: tart and not too sweet. Homemade crust, too. Yummy!
But alas, even that is a bit too sweet for us diabetics to do much more than sample. 🙁
Dinner is a creamy parmesan chicken pot pie. 🙂
BTW, mince meat pie ought to also have meat in it, as well as tart berries. The store-bought filling doesn’t.
Chess Pie..
But Peach COBBLER.
I’m just glad you and Randy mentioned Sweet Potato Pie because I certainly was about to do it! That, the cobblers and banana pudding.
Now, I only take a nibble, for I am already a carbaholic and will have done damage there. But watching the hubby, Dad, brother, nieces and nephew chow down while the dog looks on jealously (while putting his entire head in your lap because I think that he thinks we’re too dense to get the point) is priceless.
And of course, Sweet Potato Pie.
Made pumpkins last night, tonight COBBLERS…
