300 Dead by Israeli Airstrikes
Three hundred to one? I read one Israeli was killed by a rocket. Who was he Reinhard Heydrich?
Israel pounded Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip from the air on Sunday and prepared for a possible invasion after killing at least 296 Palestinians in two days of attacks.
Here they come this is going to be brutal. Israel is going to bleed Hamas until Bush leaves office. It looks like Hamas is going to be in a US sanctioned fight for its life. We push the elections in which Hamas is elected. Now we unleash an eager Israel to overthrow Hamas. This isn’t a exactly a proud moment for our nation. This is more of the insane foreign policy under Bush and Cheney. How many Palestinian people are going to suffer for our meddling?
Israeli tanks deployed on the edge of the Gaza Strip, poised to enter the densely populated enclave of 1.5 million Palestinians. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s cabinet approved a call-up of 6,500 reservists, a government official said.
Mark Regev, a spokesman for Olmert, said Israel would press on with the campaign “until we have a new security environment in the south, when the population there will no longer live in terror and in fear of constant rocket barrages.”
Asked how long the operation would last, Israel’s military spokesman, Avi Benayahu told an Israeli television channel it could “still take many days.”
Israel expanded its air campaign to the southern Gaza Strip, bombing some 40 smuggling tunnels running under the border with Egypt, a network that is a lifeline to the outside world.
Bush has made a deal. Israel is going to kill a lot of people before he stops them. Saying nothing is not an option here there is blood all over our US hands. Israel needs to feel political heat to stand down. Obama needs to say something. No matter how cold our official policy toward Palestine this must be stopped immediately. The Silence is Deafening.
.
The UN General Assembly president Miguel D’Escoto listed Israeli violations in the statement:
“I remind all member states of the United Nations that the UN continues to be bound to an independent obligation to protect any civilian population facing massive violations of international humanitarian law — regardless of what country may be responsible for those violations,” the president said in the statement.
"But I will not let myself be reduced to silence."
.
“The United States strongly condemns the repeated rocket and mortar attacks against Israel and holds Hamas responsible for breaking the cease-fire and for the renewal of violence in Gaza.”
"But I will not let myself be reduced to silence."
Its like a broken record. Same blame the victim craziness over and over.
As I wrote in another thread:
United States commands the Palestinians to shut up, stop complaining, and walk quietly into the gas chambers.
And requests that they clean up after themselves after the gas has killed them.
As Ehud Barak promises to fight to the bitter end, he should be careful of his agenda. He’ll live to regret this December 2008 war to obliterate Hamas. The world, having watched Israel’s gift to Gazans -the humanitarian crisis of starvation – it may just be machine.
FWIW – two guest posts at Steve Clemons
that “We’ll fight to the bitter end is just despictable.
I bet 12 donuts, it’s not about the rockets. It has to do with one trillion cubic feet of gas, the equivalent of 150 million barrels of oil, equivalent to a large North Sea field. As long as Hamas’ hold remains on Gaza, this deal is blocked, remains in limbo:
Under what international law can Israel sign contracts to develop Palestine’s natural resource?
See why it’s not in Israel’s interest to advance the peace process..leaving them the liberty to steal resources and land?
“This is more of the insane foreign policy under Bush and Cheney.“
Not only under Bush and Cheney. When has an American administration done anything but support Israel’s bloodthirsty and murderous activities?
