I hear that most of Bush’s staff is going to clear out of the White House at the end of business today. Monday is a holiday and Tuesday the Democrats take over at noon (so it’s like a half-day). I think it’s pretty cool to think about all those Bushniks packing up their belongings and hauling them out of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building and West Wing. If only I were a paper-shredder maintenance man, this would be really awesome!!

I sure the shredders are over-heating ever since Eric Holder said “Water boarding is Torture.”
I wouldn’t be surprised if Cheney’s shredders broke down and he called in an airstrike to complete the destruction of evidence.
What’s the driving force here: glee or apprehension? Tuesday cannot come or go soon enough. Not because Mr. G.W. Bush will be on his way to his beloved Texas, but because Mr. B.H. Obama will finally have to reveal his cards for all the world to see.
So far, it’s been a game of poker with the cards held close to the vest. I, too, am waiting anxiously to see the hand.
Good one.
taking out the trash
almost makes me want to show up and lend a hand.
My boss just came over to me and held out his hand and said “happy last Friday of the Bush administration”.
Looks like things are turning around:

IMHO, if we get the Paper Markets to remain at least this liquid and then spend as much of the remaining TARP on foreclosure mitigation, we’re golden.
Again, the ‘plan’ I think will work better than waiting on corporate kindness or bankruptcy court reductions to kick in:
If lenders or mortgage holders can’t survive past something like that, they didn’t handle their business right and should feel the pain.
Whew!! No doubt the wingnuts will say we should be thankful we had Bush flying left seat on this one and not Obama. Georgie pulled back on the yoke just in the nick of time to pull us out of that death spiral.
His legacy is now solidified for eternity. He is vindicated.
His quick action saved us from financial ruin. And all at the eleventh hour of his failed tenure. It’s a festivus miracle.
The wingnut world surely rejoices.
I am hoping you’re being sarastic?
If not, Hold yer horses, there are some HUGE ‘ifs’ remaining: IF the credit markets remain fluid, IF the government spends/lends the remaining TARP right, IF the stimulus package is spent VERY VERY wisely or not at all.. IF…
Don’t we all wish we could just spin off our bad debts as a subsidiary like we’ve just let the banks?
I wonder if all the Os will be missing from the keyboards.
Heh – I was thinking the Hs.
No, you’re both wrong. They’ll take the Ws.
Partly as souvenirs, partly to prevent Glorious Leader’s moniker from being besmirched.
Good one and they’ll blame it on the Clintons as well.
16.227% of my life on this earth has spent under the disastrous reign of the Bush Administration. How freaking depressing is that?? And there are just under 4 days to go until that nightmare ends.
Every time my BackwardsBush screen saver kicks on I can’t help but smile.
since we’d love to have all the Booman people join us.
You can plug yourselves on the air!
Please, Sir — may we have a front-page countdown clock?
Excellent idea!
I don’t know … it would just make me nervous, causing me to wonder what they might still do.
