Yeah, that’s a good one too. But I’m gonna miss seeing Blago compare himself to Gandhi, Mandela, and Martin Luther King on all the morning talk shows. It was hysterical.
Although it would have been funnier if he were a Republican to boot.
It’s a tossup between Obama signing the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act into law (which REALLY brought a smile to my face) and Blago being removed – on a unanimous vote.
Sadly, the fate of our heroic shoe thrower is very much in question. He has, apparently, been badly mistreated, possibly tortured in prison, and as far as I know his trial, which was originally scheduled for December, has not taken place. Many of us fear for his life.
It would be a nice gesture if Obama stepped in, but I guess it is a small thing compared to everything else he has to deal with, and probably politically treacherous as well.
one would hope with chimpy and his minions gone that zeidi will soon be released and the charges significantly reduced or dismissed. l saw this, and assuming it’s not propaganda, it gives some reason to believe that a solution may be in the offing.
The Iraqi journalist jailed since throwing his shoes at President George W. Bush got a visit from his brother Friday and a birthday party from his guards as he turned 30.
Muntadhar al-Zeidi, who has gained cult status for his bizarre protest, is in good shape but has been denied access to his lawyer, relatives said after his brother Maitham visited him for two hours in his detention cell in Baghdad’s heavily fortified Green Zone…
granted, obama can’t publicly take a position, but there’s surely some behind the scenes activity to see this resolved in his favour.
I can value those assets – zero! Which makes Goldman, that’s right folks, BANKRUPT. So the government can try to put Humpty-Dumpty together again, bankrupting everyone else in the country, or they can let the plutocrats sit on Wall Street with a tin cup or a bushel of apples.
And that’s the lower level guys. The top seven guys who skipped their bonuses cost NY over 170 mil in taxes. So that means their bonuses were OUTRAGEOUS!!!!!
This brings a smile to my face…
Your article is a good one, too… 😀

Well, they might keep him around just for entertainment. He’s better for that than Sarah Palin, ’cause he’s no longer dangerous.

I love that LL was the first bill he signed into law. Am I a geek? 🙂
I loved it too.
That makes us kewl, not geeks 🙂
Thanks, CG – great story.

Agreed – Obama can’t back someone like that. But the guy making a fortune off those shoe sales should step in and at least pay his legal expenses!
Yeah.
Of course, from everything I have heard through the media, the grapevine, and other sources, legal expenses are the least of his worries!

Iraqi guards throw party for shoe-Bush-basher:

l wouldn’t give up hope hurria.
Dada, I hope this is correct, and I hope the outcome for him will be OK.
I don’t know whether Obama is doing anything behind the scenes – hard to know whether it’s even on his radar. It would be a decent thing to do.
My favorite? Goldman Sachs says it’s now going to take $4 trillion in bailouts (via Calculated Risk).
It was $2 trillion this morning.
Can we nationalize the banks yet?

Aren’t those the guys that get $100,000 bonuses each year? Please!!!
And that’s the lower level guys. The top seven guys who skipped their bonuses cost NY over 170 mil in taxes. So that means their bonuses were OUTRAGEOUS!!!!!
The plutocrats that I’m talking about are the ones whose hedge funds own $54 trillion in toxic assets on margin from the banks.
here’s my least favorite:
