I don’t think Gov. Mitch Daniels (R-IN) can save the GOP but it’s a good bet that he’ll be the Republican’s vice-presidential pick in 2012. The Republicans can’t even consider winning the presidency unless the can win Indiana.

Mitch Daniels? Is he even that popular in Indiana? I know he won re-election but Obama did carry the state. And besides, Daniels has too many Bush ties to be a national candidate.
Mitch Daniels is going to have the same problem every other Governor is going to have in 2012: Nobody likes the guy in charge of a failing state economy.
Either they will get stomped in the primary rounds because they took stimulus money, or they will get stomped in the general election by Obama.
