I have arrived in Pittsburgh. I haven’t been here since I came to see the Dead play in 1988. That was a pretty decent show, actually. Maybe a little too much Brent. Anyway, the city looks fantastic. It’s much nicer than I remember it. Of course, Philly is also much nicer than it was in 1988, as is Manhattan.
I see that the news cycle is still in a stupid and painful state. Maybe we will make some news worth reading here in Pittsburgh. Thank you to everyone who made a contribution towards this trip. I would not be here without you.
be nice to the lurker’s caucus this year
heh, I just ran into Matt.
enjoy the green chile beer 🙂
You were at that show? All I remember were the riot cops and the long, long ride back to NYC.
yeah, I saw every show on that tour from Minnesota to Maine. Sold a lot of shirts and beer.
Here it is:
It’s that Start your Engines that I remembered as too much Brent.
I think the Music Never Stopped was excellent and the first half of the Second Set was very good. Don’t remember much else about it.
That was the riot year? I was there too, then.
If when taking a break from your …uh netrooting, you happen to run across a good microbrew or two, give us thirsty readers a heads up. 😉
I had to spend some time in a doctor’s waiting room this morning with Faux News. They were going on about how the town hall hysterics demonstrate that America doesn’t want health care reform. They featured someone saying, “We don’t want Congress to decide this issue for us. We want a national ballot referendum so the people can vote about whether they want this reform or not.”
One of the other women waiting with me yelled at the tv, “We did that already! Last November! Your side lost!”
Everyone laughed and agreed with her. That felt good.
Oh, those lefties – always yelling and trying to get on TV.
OT, but where’s StevenD? He hasn’t posted in a long time. Hope he’s okay.
regretting not coming.
might change my mind.
do it.
You’re in my city. Wazzup?
As for the microbrews…head to Church Brew Works on Liberty Avenue and to Kaya restaurant in the strip district on Penn Avenue.
