Bill O’Reilly likes to get crazy:
O’REILLY: Do you think — and this is an off-the-wall question. And I’m telling the audience that it’s just something that’s occurred to me. Both you and Sarah Palin are good-looking women. I mean, you’re attractive, young — relatively young — women who other women can identify with. You’re a mom, a wife. You had a private-sector job.
I think that’s it. I think that the success of Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann drive the far left crazy because you don’t fit — they don’t like what you believe in, but you can attract others to listen to you. I think that’s what’s going on.
I tried contemplating what might constitute “the success of Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann,” but it started to drive me crazy.
Well, if success is media time…
..the success of Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann..
I love a good belly laugh – the tide is turning – if ever so slowly.
Give us a couple of more truth tellers, like Alan Grayson, all it takes is some spine. Why is it so hard to get…
You’re at least ahead of me — I still can’t figure out what’s the question or what it is that occurred to him. That they’re both almost-young esthetically adequate females who had jobs? This was the big breakthrough thought? The three of them should go on the road as some kind of absurdist three-person monologue — it might come off sort of like Samuel Beckett without the burden of intelligence.
It must be loofah time.
What private sector job did Bachmann have? Did “The Quittah from Wasilla” have any other private sector job besides SportsCenter anchor wannabe?
success, as defined by the modern conservative movement, is anything and everything that pisses off those they label as liberal. Their net is cast very wide, but not wide enough to doom the GOP – yet – the final exodus of the few remaining moderates will hopefully send them the way of the Whigs.
To be fair, they both attained success in politics by being elected, one as a governor, the other as a Congresscritter. Was their success partially based on their good looks? Probably. Do Republican women identify with them? Possibly. Do Republican men lust after them? Definitely. Does any of this explain why they drive “the far left crazy”? Hell, no. It’s the hateful, bat-shit-crazy nonsense that vomits out of their mouths that makes us despise them.
Ever since the House managed to reprimand Joe Wilson for calling the president a liar, I’ve been wondering why they don’t slap Bachmann for “irresponsible rhetoric,” i.e., inciting sedition and endangering the lives of census workers…
