Support for the Republican Party remains stuck below support for chlamydia and is trending toward the public approval rating for gonorrhea. However, with a seven percent approval rating from women, John Boehner is in a heated competition with cervical cancer. So, why do we care what these people think again?

I dunno. Ask max baucus, harry reid and barack obama.
I’m not part of that “we”.
great imagery. Wondering if Al Franken is taking on issues that directly hurt women in particular – good if he is.
Hello, I’m David Gregory and on this week’s Meet the Press we have gonorrhea, syphilis, jock itch, and genital warts. We will be debating whether or not sexually transmitted diseases are actually good for the American public.
Has the making of a good SNL skit. Add George Will, though.
george will is “premature ejaculation” and/or impotence.
broder would be good…for what, l’m not sure…but he’d definitely find a way to equivocate in counterpoint to will.
As for Broder, a line from “Last Tango in Paris” having to do with a dairy product comes to mind.
l ain’t touching that one…
Don’t forget Charles Kraphammer.
Our first guest argues that America needs more of these fine, upstanding diseases. Opposing him, from the liberal perspective, our second guest counters that in certain life-threatening circumstances, it might be acceptable to prescribe antibiotics, providing no public funds are used.
First guest counter-argues that the second guest is attempting a socialist takeover of the health care system.
Because support for Democrats isn’t much better. There are a lot of people out there pissed at both parties. They will still want “change” in the next election, and that’s a problem.

The Thugs are going to take a huge hit in the upcoming elections, and the Big Money are going to have to decide whether to keep trying to co-opt the Democratic Party (which gets harder to do when the Thugs aren’t a viable alternative), or fund a new party with the College Republicans left out. Old habits die hard, so it may take two election cycles. But at some point a talented politician is going to see an opportunity for a Center-Right programme, and re-create the old Thuglican party out of centrists and moderate Thuglicans. There will be enough independents to win the Presidency. But none of this will happen as long as the Thugs are hostage to Arkansas.
