What?
If you look closely you can see that lily’s left forepaw has been shaved in the middle. That’s because it’s grass seed season here. She got one stuck under the skin between her two middle toes last week. I took her to the vet again this morning because Lily continues to limp a bit, but the vet couldn’t find anything by feeling around – so, we’re doing more of the “wait and see” thing.
Lily doesn’t understand why she can’t come in.
I hope her foot is okay.
The Pack has some advice: the way to keep from left outside is to stay inside.
Sound advice.
What a cute puppy!!! I hope her paw is better soon.
It’s already less swollen, so I’m sure she’ll fine. I’m just not used to a wussy Pyr.
that’s difficult.
A young Yellow-tailed Black cockatoo just getting the hang of landing in one of our trees.
What a great series of shots. I really love the second one.
You can really see from that photo why they’re called Yellow-tailed. When they are flying or perched, their tails are fanned closed so that you can barely see the color, especially since the center feathers are all black and sit on top of the banded ones.
If only it hadn’t been so overcast. I hate grainy photos.
Right now Lily appears to be following up her breakfast with some juicy grubs (she’s digging is the damp dirt, shoveling around with her nose and then chewing something). Yum.
I forgot to mention that you know when it’s a youngster because they make this sound like an accordion being slowly destroyed with a cheese grater. Continuously. I presume this is to induce the adults to feed it (if only to make it shut up for a few seconds).
Fabulous shots!!!
just for grins
ROTFLMAO!!!!! I love it.
That is hilarious.
On Monday the 7th, my friend sent me a text msg with a link to a Craigslist ad for a “Lovable Basset Hound”. I decided to give the guy a call and ended up speaking with him for 15 minutes about our love for the breed and our recent losses (he had just lost a 14-year old the month prior). I arranged to go over after work to meet the female they were offering and fell in love. I ended up taking her home that night and 10 days later have absolutely no regrets. Meet 5-year old and well-trained Bailey who I’ve nicknamed Preciosa:
It’s not the same – no canine could ever replace Bud – but she has been a great friend the past couple of weeks.
she’s very cute.
yeah, she’s a keeper
She’s adorable, Manee! I hope you can keep pace with keres and Andi in posting the doggy photos. I want admire that beauty for many years to come.
thanks, Alice, I’ll do my best 🙂
I’m so glad for you both Manny.
Not that I even like the stuff, but I’m afraid when I hear “Bailey” I immediately think “and cream”.
She has a particularly lovely face.
Yeah, I’ve been having the same issue with the name. She definitely has a basset personality and knows how to use every expression on that lovely face to get what she wants out of me
Mazel tov, Manny. She looks adorable and she’s clearly got that look-deep-into-my-eyes-and-do-my-bidding look down.
gracias, Andi. we definitely have a battle of wills, especially at 3am when she’s decided it’s time to wake up and start the day. so far, I’m winning that one.
I know bassets are pretty similar, but she really really looks like Hopey.
What a cutie!
Hopeful and the windy day
I was so hoping to see Hopeful with her ears blown back. It was cute all the same.
