They prayed that it would rain on Barack Obama’s DNC acceptance speech. God rewarded them with a hurricane that disrupted the Republican National Convention. They prayed that some death or illness would prevent one Democratic senator from being able to vote for cloture on the health care bill. God ignored their wishes and it was Republican Jim Inhofe who failed to show up for the vote.
Now at least one teabagger is in tears, wondering if they’ve angered God by praying for misfortune to descend on others or if they just didn’t pray hard enough.
Do you remember when these people were in power? Do you want that to happen again any time soon? Praying hard that it won’t happen isn’t good enough.
