Do you know what a coward looks like?
“I’m not for using reconciliation for healthcare — I’m just not.” said Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.). “If we couldn’t get a bill through the Congress that had broad support, I said we shouldn’t have a bill.”
Apparently, it doesn’t matter if a majority of our elected officials want to reform our health care system. If no Republicans want to reform it, we should have no reform.
The biggest delusion Landrieu is suffering from is the idea that she’ll have an easier time winning reelection after health care reform fails.
I suspect she hates the idea of being irrelevant, just as Evan Bayh does. I’m not sure the problem is cowardice so much as an unprincipled drive to hang on to power at any cost.
She’s trying to screw over everyone in this country with a b.s. excuse that doesn’t even have the merit of helping her politically.
Yep.
We have a winner. It’s the same thing with Lieberman and the rest of them. They will not be ignored.
Illinois, the gift that keeps on giving.
I live in northern Illinois, and received mailings from the Cohen camp almost daily for a week and a half or so before the election. I don’t recall receiving any literature from any of the other Lt Gov candidates. The amount of literature was one reason why I didn’t vote for Cohen. It bordered on the ridiculous.
First out of the box she is and before the realities of the content or the mechanics of the process are even set out so yes, I’d say she’s ready to jump into the leverage abyss, the American people be damned.
Makes me almost wonder what the wiretapping fools would have uncovered.
And Mary, just FYI, MSNBC’s free health clinic folks might like to have something to say about this and 2009 will have a hurricane season, careful whose hands you slap as I recall they’re the same ones that offer your people a hand when the need is on your side.
So I guess Growacet isn’t covered by the Congress health plan.
And her constituents will suffer for no good reason.
I’m wondering: Do Landrieu, Lincoln, Bayh, et al really believe they can hoodwink their constituents into thinking they were unable to do anything because of the Republicans?
Do they really think their voting public is that stupid?
Oh, wait…that Kos/PPP poll…. maybe the voters (at least 25% of them) really are that stupid….
So are we done making excuses for mendacious garbage like this? The poor thing comes from an idiot state where they all WANT to die, she’d be called a liberal and wouldn’t know what to do, blablabla?
We need to dump Landrieu, Lincoln, and Nelson. Hopefully replacing them with decent human beings, but if it ends up just being Republicans, no big loss.
I agree. This “huge” majority didn’t do anything for progressives in this country. A smaller majority with no filibuster might be something to work for. Always thought the Southern Democrats of the fifties and sixties were worse, now not so sure.
I don’t understand my elected officials in our own party seem to watch Faux News. Truly shocking.
hehhehe
