Who’s having seder dinner tonight?
Does leftover Mexican count? Just kidding as I know it doesn’t. I hope those observing have a wonderful dinner and Passover week.
We had the family seder this past Saturday night, a time when everyone was available.
Not us (Imogen is on a plane right now), oh, and we’re not Jewish (or anything for that mater).
The big news here is that I just ordered us a composting toilet. Well, it’s exciting to us. We get to fill in our disgusting septic system after I install it. We’re looking forward to the lack of smell.
Simple pleasures for simple people.
I’m happy for you! The more composting the merrier. I’ve looked into it for our area, but the hitch seemed to be keeping a steady enough temperature without central heating ..
I’ve also looked into be keeping, but I’m too spacey.

What a great picture!!! Morning Miss Andi!! I am looking forward to sharing some photos myself later this week as I play with my new camera. I did some experimenting last night but none of them worth sharing. LOL I have a lot to learn but am really excited about it.
And how perfect — this week’s Friday Foto Flogging theme is Beginnings and Endings. Since just got got a new camera, any pics you take will fit the theme. 🙂
Thanks for the info AndiF
What kind of camera did you get?
I got a Nikon D3000 and also got a zoom lens and tripod to go with it. It has stabilizer as well which will help with the slight shaking in my hands due to nerve damage. I am really looking forward to playing with the camera and all the different stops and all that. Since I cannot work, I need a hobby that gets me out of the apartment. This one should do it.
Never thought I’d say it, rf — but I envy your equipment.
😉
Well, you can make up for inferior equipment with superior skills.
I have my doubts about those, too — it’s been ages!
ROTFLMAO!!!! I am really looking forward to trying the camera out more. I am going to do some experimenting today. It is supposed to be real windy so I might go to the capital and a mall to look for beginning and end pictures for the foto flog this Friday.
Good luck with it!
Congrats! I know you’ll have a lot of fun with it!
Lovely, lovely photo, Andi. Just delicious.
The pack always positions itself so well within the frame, too.
🙂
Thanks WW. Bebo and Sniff can be hard to get in pictures but Giddy’s slo-mo pace makes getting her in shots easy.
And glad to read below that some nice weather is coming your way too.
Ooo, dat’s purdy, too.
A dream sequence quickly to follow.
…………….
DAMN. I ordered an iPad, which will be coming in a month, or so. )I justified it as a great way to take depositions, read books, and save time for my office.)
Frankly, if you have not visited Guttenberg e-books, please go. FREE, GREAT, CLASSICS and more. all for your reading.
AND, Amazon, just created a Mc’Laptop reader, that lets you read the same e-books, you already bought for your iPhone. YEA! more books.
(wait, I connect it all up). So, not only can I read my books on my phone, which is really OK, now I can read the same books (amazon, Guttenberg, and more) and news on the laptop.
And then I get an iPad.
Guttenberg is a great resource. But I still don’t like extensive reading on a computer screen. As far as e-books go, I’m very much a Luddite.
I, too, am addicted to paper. My library is overflowing. Every room has a couple of books, mostly open. And the bathroom? A pyramid. Every month, I remove all books, and every month the pile regrows with finished books.
Very foggy here…in my head and outside. When is the nice spring weather due to arrive? I’m SO ready for it.
Sorry about the fog- inside and out. Spring has sprung here in Austin. Haven’t had the heat on in over a week and even had to run the ac one day last week when it was over 80 in the apartment and no breeze. Suppose to be in the 70’s today.
Well if our weather is heading your way and lags about 24 hours, I’d say Wednesday — sunny here all week, warming up starts Tuesday and hits 78 by Friday.
Apparently, we’re looking at 70 regionally by Sunday. That probably means 60 – 65 here on the hill.
Temps were in the ‘teens Sunday morn. Gee whiz!
Our weather? Easy – same as Andi & JimF’s;-)
We’re finally getting a little green on our trees, so we’re not too awfully far behind you all.
You’re not that far behind ID; you’re ahead of us. Nothing much doing in the woods, yet, except for some maples — and they’re red. 😉
Still having an antipodal “Indian” Summer – clear blue skies and a breeze. I.e. a good day for doing laundry.
Morning, everyone.
We had a warm, windy day yesterday and a bumpy, thundery night. AWwwwwsome weather if you ask me. I’ll enjoy the next week or so with open windows and time outdoors before the clouds of yellow pine pollen arrive. :/
Like the lady said, Lusciousness: get it while you can.
Warm-up starts here today … wishing it a speedy trip to the east.
Thanks. It’s cold and pouring rain here. We need your warmth.
It’s supposed to be fabulous this weekend, maybe even by Friday. This endless cold wet is getting ridiculous.
Okay, okay, I know this is really pushing it for a yet-another-hump-day photo but look at this way — no one’s going to have trouble getting over these “humps”. 🙂

What a lovely humpday photo. And tomorrow is Friday for me this week (and I was home with flu yesterday), so can it get any better?
Well I guess it must have been a pretty mild case of the the flu or you wouldn’t be happy about getting to stay home because of it. So yay for not going to work! And double yay for days off.
Also … thanks.
I slept and played with Finn most of the day yesterday, after a night of chills and sweats, so it really wasn’t that bad.
I like the midair droplets in the pic.
I’m glad to hear it wasn’t that bad.
Bebo would like to hear that I’m getting up and going out.
I’m getting up and going out.
See ya.
I take it back…I was feeling green around the gills by 10:30, came home at lunchtime and had to recuperate.
Hope you had a nice walk!
Ah, you succumbed to post-flu-faux-health-itis. I get it every time, and have to remind myself that it’s a cruel ruse designed to get me out of bed just long enough to cause a relapse.
Stay in bed and insist on being pampered.
I was afraid that I was succumbing to Finn-is-oh-so-cute-and-way-more-fun-than-workitis if I stayed home. And I had some stuff that needed to be finished before my long weekend.
Of course, I very nearly made a big and stupid mistake because I wasn’t feeling well.
At least you got some extra time with Finn. Hope your better.
That was the best part. Oh, to call in sick every day…
Feel better soon!!!! and enjoy the days home. LOL
Thanks!
Wow. That’s a great photo! Just like Spring ..
DNR is conducting an 870 acre burn in the park today and seeing the wind direction, I’ll bet you get some smoke from it. The burn area is southwest of the large campground at Taylor Ridge. Tell Jim I said “hold yer nose”.
Very nice YAHD suspended droplet photo, BTW.
That’s the prime area for hikers to get lost in. Maybe clearing out the undergrowth will make it easier to track and find them.
I’ve worked some fires down there in years past and one spring ran into a pretty nice patch of Morels on the way back to the campground afterward.
Planning on heading out in an hour or so to play with the new camera. Who knows I might even post a few pictures tonight or tomorrow if any of them turn out at all. LOL I also have over 2000 songs loaded on the new ipod to listen to. I still have to find close to 2000 other songs from my collection to add. LOL
I hope everyone has a great day!!!
I’m glad you’re having fun with the new toys, RF! Can’t wait to see some pictures.
Good afternoon everyone,
We’re at a comfortable 76F here today and it has been a beautiful sunny day.
Andi your YAHD picture is really good today. RF if you keep practicing with your new camera, you might get as good as Andi, or if the Flying Spaghetti Monster smiled down on you, you could be as good as Olivia. 😉
CG I’m sorry to hear you’ve got the flu. Hope you get to feeling better soon.
George and I are hobbling along as usual. I’m supposed to have surgery on my bad leg this coming Monday. I’m not looking forward to that, but I’ll be glad to be able to walk more than 20 yards without stopping.
Lucy the new puppy has been driving George up the wall. She’s like a little rocket running and bouncing off anything in her way.
Well I hope everyone is doing good and take care.
FM
Good luck with the surgery, FM. Let us know how it goes.
Hi SN,
Good to see you and thanks for the well wishes. I’m taking my laptop to the hospital with me and just incase the hospital has wi-fi, I’ll be trying to start my laptop and letting everyone know what’s going on.
Hi Family Man! Lucky looks like a real cutie. Sorry George. Speaking of luck, the best of it on Monday.
Hiya ID,
Yep Lucy is a real cutie with more than enough energy for two puppies. I fear to say that until Lucy gets rid of some of that energy that George is always a couple of light years behind her. 🙂
Thanks for the well wishes, and I hope you have a great Easter.
Thanks! We’ll be doing the family thing with the kids & grandkids.
Nothing better than a family get together. Have fun.
Lucy looks adorable. I hope everything goes well with the surgery – you’ll have to let us all know how it goes, because well be thinking of you.
Is the laptop up and running again?
Hiya CG,
Nope the laptop is still the same. It decided to give me a reprieve after about an hour of starting, stopping and re-starting. I’m bringing the laptop with me to the hospital so if it starts I’ll let ya’ll know how I’m doing.
Yep I agree that Lucy is adorable, but she just has too much damned energy. I keep telling my brother and sil that she’s just a puppy and sooner or later the energy will fade on out.
Sending good thoughts your way!!! Lucy is a cutie and I bet she is a little terror. LOL
Hi FM! Glad to see you here! I’ll have to check the photo later when it’s not blocked. I hope that everything goes well for you this Monday. Looking forward to your updates.
That’s a great shot, FM! Lucy’s lovely.
Wishing you the best on your surgery. Please keep us posted whenever & however.
Good morning everyone!!!! I had a great day out playing with my camera yesterday and am planning more of the same today. Here are a couple that I took. I have many more I am planning on sharing in the Foto Flogging on Friday. You can also see quite a few I took on facebook.
Looks like you’re off to a great start.
Can’t wait to see what you have for Friday Foto Flogging.
Morning Miss Andi!!! and thanks. I will be going out again today with the camera and playing some more. LOL
Yep, it’s addictive.
It would be nice if you uploaded a higher resolution so we can see the detail better.
I will upload the large on use the clickable(sp) from now on. Click on it a couple of times to see if the higher respolution shows. I uploaded the larger photo.
I got the larger one this time.
Addictive is right!
I’m currently engaged in a 12 step program for shutterbugs. ‘Cept they’re called stops, not steps.
😛
I can relate. I’m powerless over digital and my life is unmanageable. Since I became hooked, my hard drive is littered horribly with old shots I can’t bear to throw away and I have an insatiable craving for AA batteries.
Littered hard drive? Sounds like you’ve got a burning desire.
😉
Self will run riot!
Seconded!!
Love the light in those rowing shots. So bright & clear.
Thanks!!! I wish I could say I made it out today with the camera but I ran other errands instead. I also learned very quickly that I need to take the camera with me as I saw lots of shots I wanted to take. LOL
Remember the old commercial, “Don’t leave home without it!”
I will remember it from now on. Riding the bus an walking a lot I see things that I want to capture and cannot do it without the camera. LOL
O, I’ll bet you could capture some of those things without the camera ..
.. ‘tho not, of course, without the equipment.
ROTFLMAO!!!!! Somw of them might not like being caught with the equipment….the camera. LOL
Good morning everyone!!! Seems my Friday will be a quiet one as we are expecting heavy rain. I hope you guys have better weather in your areas. I actually have th ac on right now as there is no breeze and the humidity is so high. It was already 70 at 3:30 am.
Morning RF. Trying out your flash?
Friday Foto Flogging awaits your contribution(s). Since you’re at the end of your non-camera existence and the beginning of being a shutter-holic, I’d say anything you’ve taken will fit the theme. 🙂
Morning Miss Andi!!! I was out taking pictures as the sub was going down and we had a heavy cloud cover. I am having fun with the camera. Of curse, any suggestions from the more experienced shutter bugs would be greatly appreciated.
Good morning! I am so glad it’s Friday! I have a 4-day weekend! I think my camera will be getting some use this weekend too. 🙂
Sounds like very good news for the FFC.*
*Finn Fann Club
Come on over to Friday Foto Flogging. This week’s theme is Beginnings and Endings
How are you this morning? I finally have my laptop back from the CBs this morning, and a few free minutes this morning (Finn is still sleeping, alon with all the other fellas here).
I’m off to the gym later this morning with my mom. It’ll feel like one of my old Fridays from last fall. 🙂 I do miss having every Friday off. And then I need to take the car in for inspection, and finish putting my tax paperwork together and drop it off. Wait, maybe this isn’t really a day off…
Everything is starting to bloom here, and while it looks lovely, my nasal passages aren’t so psyched..
Ugh, much too busy a day. I hope you’ve penciled in a nap somewhere.
We’ve got lots of little green stuff on the ground and the maples are showing some action and a few of the poplars look to be budding but that’s about it. I’m hoping all the warm weather will be an inspiration to things to get going but usually there’s not much until mid-April.
Our red & white trillium is up a couple of inches already. Keep an eye out for morels, I hear the early ones are out.
Still, it beats working.
Good morning froggies!!! Hope everyone has a great weekend planned. I will be heading out with the camera and on a shopping expedition today. Still looking for some canes to add to my growing collection. I am thinking of getting one that folds down into a seat to take out when shooting pictures. LOL
I think you need a cane with a carved ram’s head.
I saw one on line that had a curved dragon body that was beautiful. I am more of a dragon person than a goat person. Of course, the goat might be better as I get older. LOL
Well dragon are flashy but the ram’s head is classic. 🙂
If I find one I like, I will probably get one. I have already ordered to formal canes on line. LOL I will take pictures when they arrive. I also plan to take better pictures of the ones I already have. Currently, I have 3 I really like and one that I got from the doctor that has been retired. LOL
I think we need a new cafe….
Morning!!!! I think you may be right. LOL
