Playin’ the vinyl.
Take a woman like your kind, to find the man in me.
Garcia for beginners. His playing got better ever year for the next eight years before it started to slip.
Could the Bush Doctor play The Beatles? You bet your ass.
Here’s a treat from an old master.
Who could forget when Madness performed on The Young Ones?
Man, that’s one of my favorite Dylan songs. And a great Lebowski moment too.
I never quite “got” the Grateful Dead. I mean, I’ve read Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test and I know how much they especially mean to folks a generation or two ahead of me (I’m 27). A friend of mine was a big Deadhead, followed them around for years, and said the first feeling he felt after “Jerry” died was overwhelming relief. Because he was off the hook, so to speak, and wouldn’t have to set aside his life to follow them anymore.
But personally, I never connected to the Dead. I feel like they’re a prime example of the “you had to be there” trope.
I attended three Grateful Dead concerts, but never got into the scene. I love the music because it’s so eclectic and I can just sit back & listen to Jerry’s guitar.

you never know when you might ‘get it.’
Get it?
OK, pretty cool. And it’s a testament to how little I’ve listened to them that I thought this was a Black Crowes original.
It’s an Otis Redding original.
Here’s a GD original:
