You know, what’s going on in the Republican Party is just heartbreaking:
BOISE — Sarah Palin is in Boise to campaign for Republican Vaughn Ward — who is vying for a seat in congress.
Ward admits that in recent weeks — he has experienced what he calls mis-steps.But Wednesday night, he says he mis-spoke while debating his opponent in Post Falls.
It had to do with a question about U-S expansion — whether Puerto Rico should become a state.
Ward answered, “The problem with extending statehood to some, to any other country, is that then the infrastructure requirements…cost an enormous amount of money. Let’s focus on what’s important here. It’s about putting Americans back to work. It’s about putting this country right again. And I don’t see that and I don’t care what state it is or what country it is that wants to become a part of America; it’s not time, it’s not going to be time. Let’s focus on us first.”
Labrador, who was born and raised in Puerto Rico, responded: “I just need to correct, Puerto Rico is not a country, Puerto Rico is a territory of the United States. It’s about time that we took some civics lesson and we learn what Puerto Rico is.”
Ward then said, “I really don’t care what it is. I mean, it doesn’t matter. I don’t care.”
This is the kind of a man that Sarah Palin wants to go to Idaho to endorse.
Ignorance meet ditch.
You missed the other sad part about that whole thing. Yeah, Labrador got dissed by Ward, but then Labrador whines that The Quittah is endorsing Ward and not him, when he’s the Tea Party candidate.
Pisses me off to no end. What the fuck is wrong with these people?
And don’t forget that Palin has roots in Idaho. It’s where she got her education.
(Insert punchline here.)
yeah, she included it in her rounds of serial ‘education’ moments at three universities. I imagine most of her professors are backing away now from taking any discredit for trying to pour any sense into her noggin.
And I see her partner in Dumb & Dumber, Rand Paul, is running for cover in sheer exhaustion rather than meet his obligation of the booking on MTP this Sunday.
joining a short list with Louis Farrakhan and Prince Bandar as the only guests to ever cancel on Meet the Press.
A list I am sure Rand Paul likes being a part of.
This really explains a lot.
they just can’t help themselves, can they?
the wilderness appears to suit them …
Sarah Palin is a Democratic asset, as I’ve said before. Not that this isn’t obvious to anyone who might even lack political expertise. And her daughter on the talk circuit might even produce further profits.
Just keep the Palins on the front page.
Sondheim thought he was making a joke.
I work with two gentlemen and one lady from Puerto Rico. They are immensely proud of being citizens and are angry if people call them immigrants because they are native born citizens. I also work with quite a few Mexican-Americans and there is a distinct frostiness between the two groups. So don’t think all Hispanics are a block. In fact, both groups resent lumping Hispanics as a block. They each have their own history and culture.
What is really heart breaking is that these clowns can hit double digits in the vote count.
Cry for your country. With luck there is only one more decade of this BS coming.
Scary stuff. He doesn’t have a clue.
If George Bush’s public relations team was just a teensy bit savvier he could have been the ❝Lovable Goofball❞ instead of . . . whatever he is.
this is hilarious.
of course she’d endorse him
“killing the gulf of Mexico” is heartbreaking. THIS story is another word that starts with H: “hilarious”
Palin’s declaration of “We’re all Arizonans now!” immediately brought to my mind the old joke about Tonto and the Lone Ranger after they’re surrounded by hostile Indians. The Ranger describes what they’re going to do. Tonto: “What do you mean ‘we’ white man?”
