Hello again painting fans.
This week I’ll be with the Cape May Second Empire house seen directly below. I’m painting the house from a slightly different angle showing just a bit more of the left side.
I will be using my usual acrylics on a 6 by 6 inch gallery-style canvas.(This is a thicker canvas similar to the one used in the Hudson river scene.)
I continued by starting to apply color within the various components of the house. The separations of my outline provide a good roadmap. I’m actually changing things a bit to make a warmer palette. This has the dual purpose of helping with my partial color blindness. I can’t see all of the subtle shades of this structure. An intermediate photo of the painting is seen directly below.
With further refinement I was able to bring the painting to its current state, seen in the photo directly below. Up to this point, all paints have been applied in thin watery layers.
That’s about it for now. Next week I’ll have more progress to show you. See you then. As always, feel free to add photos of your own work in the comments section below.
Earlier paintings in this series can be seen here.
Paint me a picture of your thoughts.
Boran2,
This is coming along seemingly faster than usual.
Looks good
You ain’t kidding, KNUCKLEHEAD! He’s turning into a regular phenom! The Evelyn Wood of Palooza Painting! :o)
Thanks guyz! Hay SS, when is that music festival by you?
Hello Mr.B2,
The Riverhead Blues and Music Festival is held on the 17th and 18th of July down on the river, in town. They have three stages this year. Back up from the two in the last couple of years. I even heard a whisper that my son’s band might be there to cover some classic rock tunes! That would be sumpthin!
It would be great to finally meet you, if you could swing the trip down here :o)
Thanks! I’m gonna see if we can make it there. It would be cool to meet you!
That’s good to hear :o)
Hope it works out.
Hey Super,
Haven`t seen you of late.
Glad you sound well.
Enjoy the music & I hope your son rocks.
Sounding well….hmmm…reminds me of a story :o) Like to hear it? lol!
Once upon a time, at a crab house slash karaoke bar, in a galaxy (Maryland) far, far away….. :o) A young and slightly inebriated, shy fellow (the names have been changed to protect the innocent) agreed to sing the Allman Bros tune, Midnight Rider in front of a room full of strangers. And although he possessed a not completely terrible voice, managed to send even the deceased king crabs running for the exits! :o)
Little did he know that his Dad, who was there, had secretly paid the karaoke operator for a taped copy of the performance. At a later date, having sat through the entirety of the tape, the troubador’s Mother in Law had this to say:
“The important thing is that you looked good!”
:o)
Yikes!
