Okay, if Rand Paul cannot be allowed to determine what ‘Libertarian’ stands for, can he at least determine what the term ‘Aggressively Stupid’ stands for? I always thought it was strange to have anti-choice libertarians fraternizing with the social conservatives and warmongers.

I always thought it was strange to have anti-choice libertarians fraternizing with the social conservatives and warmongers.
Because they aren’t really Libertarians. People like Rand Paul are Republicans that are afraid of the GOP’er label. Or think they are too hip for it.
actually, I think of the Pauls as Libertarians who are anti-choice so they can get elected to high office.
Maybe they’re Libertarians who equate abortion with murder?
maybe. but I doubt it.

Except that Rand – unlike his father – is also toeing the R line on the wars and on gay marriage. In other words, he’s cherry-picking the stupidest of the Libertarian ideals, and discarding the parts that make sense. Come to think of it, to the extent it has a coherent ideology at all, that could pretty well sum up the whole Tea Party phenomenon.
Before this is over, we’re going to yearn for the rational, thoughtful days of Jim Bunning.
(Semi-serious question of my own)
Where are the libertarians who argue that there should be no such thing as a legal status for limited liability corporations?
I wish I knew!
The reason.com folks seem to be a distinct, non-paulian wing of libertarianism, vs lew rockwell.com folks, who have gotten more or less formally linked with Ron Paul (who posts articles there).
The personhood thing would be a GREAT discussion topic!
has got to be just ~peachy~ with Sarah Palin.
Keep an eye on Troutfishing‘s diaries, he’s tracking the destroy-the-world “rapturists” that include Palin and he’s been looking into what Rand Paul is doing. If Rand is in with the rapturists, he’ll have a deep well of $$ to pull from 🙁 🙁
