Welcome to Friday Foto Flogging, a place to share your photos and photography news. We were inspired by the folks at European Tribune who post a regular Friday Photoblog series to try the same on this side of the virtual Atlantic. We also thought foto folks would enjoy seeing some other websites so each week we’ll introduce a different photo website.
This Week’s Theme: Nature.
Website(s) of the Week: Amateur Photography Gets Lucky (and stays out of the way).

Previous Friday Foto Flogs
that I’ve been working on but here’s the most recent one I had, taken on Elliott’s 5th birthday and from my parent’s porch:
Cool picture. Love the shimmery metallic clouds.
The light on the rippled clouds is fantastic.
Very cool! Can’t believe Elliott’s already 5…
You’re telling me! Every time I pick him up, his personality is showing new little quirks and nuances that show me how he’s growing and perceiving things differently every day.
It’s neat to watch.
Beautiful view your parents have.

Just a few of my favorites. You can explore more nature – and city – pics on my flickr account if you’d like.
Lovely pyramidal forms in the tree and the duck butts. The last picture looks like a scene from Middle Earth.
Love those duck butts!
Lohne, Germany is my favorite of the set. I love how the very straight (and popping off the screen) tree meets the diminishing line of corn.
That last one looks like Gandalf will be walking by at any moment. 🙂
Duck butts are always a big hit. 🙂
Beautiful blue sky and green nature in Lohne.

dada,
Fantastic shots.
I love anything to do with trains.
I really forgot tonight was a flog night.
I did shoot some sunsets these past evenings, so I will be back.
I love the combination of shadows and shapes in landscaping materials shot. But even more, I’m taken with the parallel lines meeting the curve of the train.
Must be my day for pyramidal forms. Love the gravel piles. The shadows remind me of the sunset on Mauna Kea.
I love the rail road ties.
I love that stack of railroad ties, and the piles of gravel. Good to see you here, dada.
Hey d, good to see you back at the flog. Love the rr ties.

Seasonal Colors
I’m jealous I didn’t notice that red leaf shot — the color almost looks like it was splashed on a b&w photo.
That last one would make a lovely holiday post card.
Love the Snonorah, and the curly-cue too. And that bit of bright red in the bottom photo.
Shroom Couple 09 27 10
The lighting is just about perfect — it really brings out the flaking pattern.
NDD,
Very cool. Perfect light capture.
How do they taste?
There’s a Victoria’s Secret joke somewhere in that photo dying to get out.
Nice pair of fungal fruiting bodies ya’ got there.
Looks like a couple of curled up armadillos. Nice to see you NDD.
Pretty shots, I love the pattern on the deck boards.
Would post but my camera has been broken since October and my computer was down, then resurrected with a different OS (Ubuntu) and I lost all my old photos. Ah well, I can enjoy all of y’all’s.
Crapola! I’m so sorry you lost all those great photos.
Shelves
These are behind me at my 8′ long desk & 8 feet to the right.
I include some detail shots also.
The new shed I`m almost done with in one of my yards.
It`s 27’x25′
I hope you notice my Aloe blooming.
Now for a few sunsets from the other side of my house.

A Bit of Moon
(4 shot composite)
I’ll bet at night, everything on your shelves comes to life and has fascinating conversations. 🙂
Gorgeous sunsets.
I like the bountiful bric-a-brac and the sumptuous sunsets.
Let me bother you with the one from tonight.
A composite of 8 images.
So that’s what I couldn’t see in the dark behind you … 😉
Never tire of seeing those sunsets, Head. I love the tiny palm silhouettes.
Olivia,
Yes, & the 8 feet of shelves directly behind me.
I have another desk there with shelves filled with stuff up to the ceiling.
I plan on having those shelves cleaned up by christmas, & I`ll also shoot those.
Looking behind me, I think I`ll shoot them tomorrow.
Its not that much of a disaster.
I love your series of snowflakes.
I looked at them over at your place a few days ago.
Andi & Oliva, I love the icy filigree.
Thanks.
Elements of nature from my neighborhood and beyond.

Water
Cool is the 5th element in your shots.
Really well done theme. The spillway shot is my favorite — I love the edge definitions and the way it looks almost painted.
Agree with you Andi – I love the sheen of colour on the water too.
Late to the party, but here’s a few.
Hi Bob. Thanks for the colour boost — wonderful to see your greens, oranges, yellows. We had freezing rain all day today, lost power a few times. The world is grey, brown, and blah. (Though it does sound nice, all tinkle-y and crackle-y as the ice-coated branches move.)
Glad to help w/ the color. Sometimes we miss being snowed in. Thanks for the flakes.
I can see why CG picked that middle photo for the cafe — it’s a lovely reminder of what we don’t have right now (instead we have snow, 30 mph winds, and bitter cold).
Thanks, I never would have noticed if you hadn’t mentioned it. Tonight they are predicting low 20’s for North Central Fl. If only we could get snow for a day it really would feel like Xmas. ‘Snow tire’ HA!
