I’m heading in a little later than usual today (have to take CBtY to an appointment at 9:15), so here’s a new cafe!
Soeaking of CBtY, can you believe he’ll be 16 on Wednesday? Me neither. I wish he’d tell me what kind of birthday cake he wants. 🙂
And it’s a beautiful clear day here, alebit a bit breezy. And would you believe I was wishing for a rain day so I could wear my new polka dotted rain boots? Maybe later this week.
Old cafe here
That’s a lovely scene and is that a tiny Bebo in the distance? As pretty as it is, I’m hoping not to see any more scenes of that nature for quite some time.
Happy Birthday to CBtY! My absolute favorite has always been spice cake with mocha frosting.
No more rain for a few days, please! We had some flooding over the weekend, but not too serious. At least no homes flooded that I’ve heard of.
We had huge amounts of rain here. Some driveways were washed out, and small portions of roadways. Hopefully we won’t see any more precipitation soon.
Yep, that’s Bebo. You can see her better if you click on the link in the original comment — plus you can see my oh-so clever title for the picture. 😉
I wish you would get your no rain wish but the forecast doesn’t look like the weather gods are answering wishes this week.
She looks like a deer. Although your woods are beautiful, I’m thinking you’re probably tired of the snow. We’re in full spring down here.
We haven’t had any snow since that one and it only lasted a day and since then the temps have only been below freezing at night so I think it’s likely that we’re through with accumulating snow (though we once had 15 inch snow in April).
But right now I’m definitely jealous of anywhere it’s green.
Yes, Happy Birthday to CBtY!!
polka dotted rain boots- what fun! spice cake with vanilla cream frosting makes a great birthday cake imo, or how about flour-less chocolate cake?
Good morning everyone. I’m going to spend today thinking about CBtY’s birthday cake!
Nice way to spend the day. I’ll be in meetings. Sigh.
In the BCROD, no doubt:(
Good morning, all!
And congratulations to all the tribal women – it’s the centennial; International Women’s Day.
The site is reporting 3 DOS attacks so far. They’ve survived and are back online. Too bad they have that to deal with in the midst of celebration.
I saw that when I first got to the site.
jimstaro just wrote a diary on the subject – ‘gotta be the so called conservative mentality’
A preview of things soon to come from Mar. 17, 2009.
Nice! BTW, I got my permanent coronation yesterday. A dental king of sorts. 😉
Congrats to HRH boran2!
Commemorative t-shirts are now available in the gift shop.
We certainly got enough precip to bring ’em out. But I if those below freezing temps at night are going to slow things down.
Looks like this one will go fast.

Love the little waterfalls of spring! Time to make little paper boats, sail them down the perilous rapids and out to sea;-)
Oh, that would be so much fun! Andi, make some paper boats for us! 😀
Everybody is welcome to bring their little boats over and sail them down the creeks. If you pick the right creek, you can even sail them all the way to the our little oceanic understudy, the camp lake.
Being an elitist NYer, I’d have to bring a paper yacht with helicopter on the aft deck.
And a lot of paper hipsters on the fore deck.
That’s right. Made outta rolling paper.

Figuratively only of course.
But of course.
Always thought Mr. Zig Zag appeared to be a seafaring kind of guy.
I always thought Mr. Zig Zag was a veteran of the high seas.
ROFLMAO!!!! !! !!
The theme is Metaphors/Similes/Synecdoches.
So make like a turtle and snap, snap, snap.
Good morning all! very busy these days. enjoying the photos of spring though. Hoping we get some around here soon.
Up here at 2400′ in the Catskills, we have daffodil plants appearing! So there is hope.
Today we also have 32 degrees & sleet.
Hi & bye, everyone!
Hi and bye to you. I hope there will be a more extended hi soon. I hope we’re all getting the green pretty soon. We certainly have had enough rain to bring it out if only the below freezing temps at night would go away.
Once we lose the freezing temps at night, I’ll know I’m in heaven.
I’m sorry I haven’t been around much lately. There always seems to be more to do around here, not less.
Hope all is well with you & the pack in your woods. Terrifically rainy here today; with snow melt that means regional flooding. I’m glad we’re high.
😉
Good morning ww & Andi! Looks like clear skies here today. Hopefully, that’s headed east from here to bring some sunshine your way too.
‘Morning, ID! Glad to hear you’ve got clear skies. I think we’ll see the sun again next week — with temperatures way up in the 40s! Woohoo!
🙂
It was nice to be forced to squint because the reflection of the sun on the creeks was so bright.
good morning all. nice to read about signs of spring. going to look for crocus on the way to work today – otherwise the main sign of spring around here is flooding creating public transportation issues. sigh.
I saw multiple water falls along the mountain on my commute. Very pretty even if I had to dodge the large puddless.
Glad you made it through, b2 — zig zag or no.
Glad to the veteran of high seas has found his way to another part of the cafe. 😉
