Most polling of public opinion depresses me. Half the time I don’t believe the polling is objective and the other half I think it confirms that most people are too stupid to live. So, I find it somewhat comforting to learn that John McCain and Joe Lieberman are the two least popular senators in the country. People hate them. Basically, no one likes them.
We should keep this in mind the next time we’re thinking of complaining about how the Sunday morning talk shows aren’t inviting our favorite politicians. It turns out, going on teevee and gabbing about politics just make people think you’re a dick.
Or, maybe that’s not true. Maybe people are just more discerning (at least in this case) than I generally give them credit for.
Personally, if I could remove just one senator, it would be Tom Coburn. Not only is Coburn always opposed to the right thing to do, he’s a master at obstruction and procedure. They don’t call him Dr. No for nothing. But I’ll be happy to see Holy Joe go. I’d had enough of his crap by about, I don’t know, 1998?
