Some idiot tried to throw a plate of shaving cream in the face of Rupert Murdoch while he was testifying before a committee of the UK Parliament. Murdoch’s wife leapt to his defense and I believe she actually managed to shove the pie in the face of the would-be assailant. Nicely done. It works for Murdoch on many levels. After all, people won’t be discussing the substance of this hearing.
The hearing recessed for ten minutes but has resumed. Unsurprisingly, Rupert is using the Sergeant Schultz Defense, first made popular by Ronald Reagan during the Iran-Contra Scandal.
