I feel like the Google is broken. I spent 45 minutes this morning searching for a transcript of last night’s GOP debate and I didn’t find a link. Fox News hosted the debate and, yet, they don’t appear to have a transcript available at their site. I’m sure one exists and probably one of you will find it in two seconds. I hope so, because I couldn’t watch the whole thing. It’s too painful. I’m just glad I didn’t have the job of fact-checking. It would take months to document every lie that was told last night.

Well I’ll provide you with what was said:
States should be in charge of their own affairs…except for gay marriage (we need a fed amendment for that). Individuals should be in charge of their own choices for schools, jobs, gun ownership, etc….except for women who don’t want to be pregnant, gays who want to be married or (for Herman Cain) ppl who don’t want to be Christian. We’re a military junta that should always respect our military before our Commander-in-Chief. All taxes are evil and we should eliminate most of them and institute a 10% flat tax. Oh, and “the Fed is evil,” and we’ve never had a bust-boom cycle on the Gold Standard (besides the constant string of depressions occurring every 5-10 years between 1820 and the creation of the Fed).
A transcript isn’t yet available. Although this was the most entertaining part of it:

Bachmann kicked the shit out of him. She would have done better if she didn’t take time away from Ricky Santorum. That hurt her a little. But she’s still in a league of her own with the rest of them. When the candidates are whittled away, we’ll see how she handles it between just her and Romney.
Didn’t find it through Yahoo search either.

California here we come, right back where we started from…
The debate is there on youtube, in about 8-minute sections. I tried the technique of transcribing a few oddball sentences and phrases out of one of the segments, into the google search box, with quote marks around them.
Nada. Google says those phrases don’t exist anywhere. Google doesn’t work as well as it used to, but usually by giving you things you don’t want, rather than nothing at all. I think.
It’s funny that no one bothered transcribing it, or that it was consciously held back. Hope the youtube videos don’t disappear too!
It’s like Fox knows that their words are toxic if seen in written form.
Here’s your transcript:

Interesting, if you retrieve the foxnewsinsider.com robots.txt file, you find that large parts of that site are disallowed to search engines such as google.com. The search engines can tax a server when they come there to index, that could be the reason or part of the reason.
Sorry, made a mistake- it does allow “googlebot” at the end of the robots.txt file. Just not any other search engines.
